Warnock comes out of retirement to return as Huddersfield boss

Righteo, what can we do before the second half starts then?

How about a quiz on the career of returning Huddersfield gaffer Neil Warnock that I initially made when he retired last April?

It features both Sheffield United and Millwall, so why not give it a go?

    Millwall 1-1 Sheff Utd

Improbably, we head into the break with the scores level at 1-1.

Millwall raced out of the blocks and took an early lead when Tom Bradshaw thumped in a fierce shot at the near post.

It was basically all home pressure from there but the Blades weathered the storm and Tommy Doyle made it 1-1 when his free-kick squirmed beyond George Long in the Lions goal.

Perfectly poised for the second half.

And now Sander Berge is in the book for the Blades for a mistimed tackle on Jamie Shackleton on halfway.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45+1 min

    Millwall 1-1 Sheff Utd

Zian Flemming is booked for the home side for shoving Oli McBurnie to the floor.

The home fans don't like it but I mean... You can't be doing that.

  5. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

Two minutes of time added on at the end of this pulsating first half.

    Time for some late drama?

    Football, eh?

I think that's Sheffield United's first meaningful shot of any kind, never mind on target.

The Lions could have been in the clear but instead it's level pegging as we head towards the break.

    Tommy Doyle (39 mins)

    Well, well, well!

Tommy Doyle's free-kick from a LONG way out beats George Long down to his right.

It's wonderfully hit by the Manchester City loanee but I think Long will think he should have done better.

    Millwall 1-0 Sheff Utd

George Saville takes the free-kick but Blades goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is able to field it from the flick on.

The Blades go direct and Millwall keeper George Long has to be sharp to come out of his area and hoik the ball down the field.

    Millwall 1-0 Sheff Utd

Millwall are asking more questions of the away side.

Daniel Jebbison gives away a free-kick with a foul on Jamie Shackleton on the edge of the area.

Another chance for the home side...

    Millwall 1-0 Sheff Utd

Millwall had an extra 24 hours to prepare for this after they played on Tuesday night, while the Blades were in action on Wednesday.

The Lions are looking the fresher of the two by some way.

I wonder if Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom might look to shuffle his deck at the break as Zian Flemming heads over for the home team.

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge goes down in the area under attention from George Saville.

    No penalty and rightly so.

Sheffield United just haven't got going at all yet.

Home goalkeeper George Long, a former Blade himself, has not had a save to make.

The Blades started the day with a seven-point lead over third-placed Middlesbrough but if this stays as it is that could be down to four by the end of the day.

    An escape for the Blades!

A free-kick is hung up for big centre-back Jake Cooper to attack.

He nods down for the onrushing Tom Bradshaw in the area.

He gets to the ball first and is taken out by visiting goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.

However, the flag is up for offside. Replays show he was on... Maybe should have been a penalty.

Very impressed with what I've seen from Millwall thus far today.

The Lions will go up to fifth with a win today and they've been more than good value for their goal lead at the moment.

    It's ALL Millwall.

Oliver Burke is slipped in on the edge of the area, with the away side at sixes and sevens.

The Scotland international makes firm contact with his shot at goal but Wes Foderingham is able to just palm it over the bar.

Murray Wallace gets up the pitch well and wins a free-kick for the home side in a decent position.

The ball flashes across the area but no takers.

    Millwall 1-0 Sheff Utd

The Millwall fans are bang up for this and their team are responding and then some so far.

For the first time in the match the away side are able to string some passes together in midfield.

They just need to try and take the sting out of this a little.

    Tom Bradshaw (6 mins)

These early kick-offs can sometimes be slow burners but not a bit of it today!

The Lions have been all-action in the opening few minutes and it had to be Tom Bradshaw with the goal!

The home side break quickly and former Blade Oliver Burke slides Bradshaw in down the inside left of the Sheffield United area, and he lashes a fierce shot in at the near post.

Could Wes Foderingham have done better?

  19. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Millwall 0-0 Sheff Utd

Blades goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is back on his feet and straight into the action!

Tom Bradshaw gets in behind the away defence and slots a low shot at goal, but it's too close to the keeper.

    BIG chance.

ZERO messing from the home side.

Long ball hammered up into the Blades area and Tom Bradshaw clatters into visiting keeper Wes Foderingham.

Both players needing a bit of a check from the medical teams.
