    Hull City 0-0 Preston

Hull City with the best chance of the game and it was only a half chance if we're honest.

Dimitrios Pelkas finds himself in a decent position near the Preston goal with the ball at his feet after some superb play through midfield by Ozan Tufan.

But the Greek midfielder is dispossessed.

His team-mate Ryan Longman looks to the sky in frustration.

We've hit the ground running in League One with a flurry of goals inside the first 10 minutes!

Conor Chaplin has put Ipswich in front at home to rock-bottom Forest Green as the Tractor Boys aim to keep the pressure up on the top two.

Play-off chasing Barnsley are leading at struggling Cheltenham thanks to James Norwood.

David McGoldrick has converted from the spot to give Derby the lead at home to Charlton.

Bristol Rovers are leading at home to Burton, John Marquis with the goal for the Gas.

Josh Windass has equalised for Sheffield Wednesday at home to MK Dons.

Elsewhere in the Varsity Derby (is there even such a thing?) lowly Cambridge have taken the lead at home to Oxford through Lloyd Jones.

Jack Taylor has given Peterborough the lead at Morecambe.

And finally Accrington are leading at home to Shrewsbury thanks to Aaron Pressley.

    Now breathe!

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Wigan 0-0 Norwich

The home side should be in front!

Angus Gunn has made not one but two huge saves to keep Wigan at bay, denying Callum Lang and Will Keane in one-on-ones.

Good stuff from the Latics so far, though. Everything except a goal.

  5. Postpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Luton 0-0 Burnley

First real chance of the match goes the way of the home side.

Arijanet Muric, who made a bit of a rick for Watford's goal in their 1-1 draw on Tuesday, does well to keep out Elijah Adebayo's shot.

    Derby County 1-0 Charlton Athletic

    Joe Thompson
Former Rochdale and Tranmere midfielder on Squad Goals

We've talked about people getting hat-tricks.

David McGoldrick has put Derby ahead and I wouldn't put it past him to go on and get a few more.

He's given Derby a great start.

Not much to report at the moment from the MKM Stadium on a dry and overcast day.

    A little scrappy.

A lively start in this one.
