  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Tottenham

Lucas Moura hits the top of the bar with a deflected cross-shot. It was never going in but it's the closest we've come to a goal.

  2. West Ham impressing but goalless at the breakpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

HT: Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

All square at the break and West Ham boss David Moyes will be the happier of the two bosses, but will know his side missed a glorious chance when Michail Antonio, through one-on-one could not beat home goalkeeper David de Gea.

The hosts offered little in the last 30 minutes of the half, but saw Alphonse Areola make an excellent one-handed save low down to the right to keep out Marcel Sabitzer's shot after only six minutes.

Manchester United have Casemiro and Marcus Rashford - the two goalscorers in Sunday's Carabao Cup final win - among their options on the bench and we may well see them early in the second half unless the home side improves.

It has to all be done tonight, so could be a late one with extra time and maybe even penalties too.

Tottenham's front three isn't really clicking.

All the quality is there, though.

Riley Taylor: 2-0 Grimsby have fried Saints. Batter make it 3-0 to the Mariners! Fish-tastic start to the night!

    Southampton 0-2 Grimsby

Gavan Holohan's playing career has been spent in the lower leagues and non-league but will his two penalties send League Two Grimsby into the quarter-finals for the first time since 1938-39?

  6. 'West Ham have played with a spring in their step'published at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The way West Ham have played so far is with a real spring in their step. They have got into good positions and created a couple of half-chances, the Manchester United defence look a little shakey.

It is wide open but Manchester United have a couple of really good players on the bench.

  7. Postpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Tottenham

Sheffield United are growing into this but neither keeper has been seriously troubled. This is not a cup classic.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

Nothing much to write home about. Michail Antonio wasted a huge chance to put West Ham ahead.

  9. Postpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

Antony robs it off Lucas Paqueta and plays a one-two in the middle. He pings it over to the right, expecting Bruno Fernandes to be there but he's not.

  10. Postpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Southampton 0-2 Grimsby

They're debating on TV whether it was a soft penalty. Not one Grimsby fan cares.

"Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to Wembley," sing the away fans.

Wout Weghorst is the target in the box but Alphonse Areola comfortably gathers in the latest Man Utd cross.

It's been a bit repetitive from Erik ten Hag's side.

  12. goal

GOAL - Southampton 0-2 Grimsbypublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Gavan Holohan

    BEDLAM!

Alex McCarthy goes the right way but there's no way he's getting to that. A text-book spot kick by Gavan Holohan.

Grimsby are in FA Cup dreamland.

  13. Postpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

Ben Johnson has dealt with Alejandro Garnacho so well all half. He matches him for pace and shoves him off it, then minutes later Garnacho flashes a shot miles over the bar in frustration.

  14. PENALTY TO GRIMSBYpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

    Southampton 0-1 Grimsby

    Another one!

Duje Caleta-Car shoves Danilo Orsi in the box. Madness.

Grimsby have a chance to establish a two-goal cushion.

james warren: It feels like Southampton have simply forgotten the basics of playing football. The one constant with us at the moment is that we always look like we are going into every match thinking “we’re going to get beaten here”. Just diabolical.

That's more like it from Spurs.

A lovely pass finds Richarlison lurking on the edge of the box and the Brazilian fires narrowly over the bar.

  17. 'West Ham are looking dangerous'published at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2023

Scott McTominay picks up a loose ball in the box but fires it straight at a wall of defenders.

Lucas Paqueta then pumps it long for Michail Antonio, David de Gea messes up the clearance and Antonio clips the rebound straight back into the keeper's arms.
