    Right, how do Scotland respond?

The first call of action seems to be just to calm things down after a shell-shocking quick fire double.

That's an unbelievable finish. Seven minutes into the second half, Scotland somehow find themselves two goals down.

Wow, what a goal that is.

Two goals in two minutes for Kristjansdottir as she curls one beautifully into the far corner. A scoreline you could have scarcely believed on the evidence of the first half.

Iceland have looked better in the second period and get their luck with an unfortunate deflection wrong-footing a previously untroubled Lee Gibson.

Rachel Corsie receiving treatment now. She's gone down relatively unchallenged, which is always a concern.

Hopefully the wind won’t interfere too much with play in the second-half, some rogue balls flying about at the end of the first period there. There’s no question that Scotland are the better side and plenty of positives for Pedro Martinez Losa. But aye, been warmer at Hampden!

Here's hoping Scotland no longer having the wind at their backs doesn't knock the wind out their sails!

You wonder how long it'll take Pedro Martinez Losa to turn to his bench as Scotland continue to search for the breakthrough in the second period.

Could Abi Harrison be the answer? She enjoyed her goal on Saturday with a wee boogie - an art that we know all Scotland players are proficient in.

She's been a star of SWPL1 with reigning champions Rangers this season, but Brogan Hay couldn't quite bag her first international goal in the opening 45.

Again though, the success of Scotland's pressing must have pleased the manager.

If you can bear it, let's take a look at some of those opportunities that Scotland failed to capitalise on in the first half.

This passage of play might have been the most frustrating of the lot, with Sophie Howard and Rachel Corsie both spurning big chances back-to-back.

  11. HALF-TIME Iceland 0-0 Scotlandpublished at 14:55 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2023

Well, how Scotland didn't score in that first half is a mystery to me.

Many a glorious opportunity passed Pedro Martinez Losa's side by, with a lack of finishing touch hampering the Scots so far.

Iceland barely laid a glove, and Lee Gibson will be feeling like she's on a Spanish holiday in between the sticks.

It's a really good chance for Iceland. It comes from Scotland's slack play. That would've been a sucker-punch.

Claire Emslie makes one of her signature drifting runs inside to fashion herself an opportunity there, but her volley is always rising.

Iceland get forward for the first time in what feels like an age as a loose ball allows Bjornsdottir to fire wide.

Erin Cuthbert's back on the field and immediately doing Erin Cuthbert things with a glorious pass into the middle.

The move breaks down, but it shows her talent that she can pull off pings like that after being dazed minutes before.

Erin Cuthbert is receiving treatment after Katla Tryggvadottir clatters into the back of her.

Looks to be a knock to the head, and she may sit the rest of this one out.

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Iceland 0-0 Scotland

Quite simply, Iceland cannot live with the Scotland press.

It's Caroline Weir who wins the ball this time, denied by a strong stop from Magnusdottir. Brogan Hay has a brilliant chance on the follow-up, but drags her strike agonisingly wide as she passes up the opportunity to score her first Scotland goal.

  17. Postpublished at 31 mins

The chances just keep on piling up for Scotland.

Both Kirsty Hanson and Erin Cuthbert have got themselves on the end of good deliveries, but their headers are both skewed wide.

Chloe said it, surely a goal has to come sooner or later.

Sophie Howard rises really well. It's unfortunate to see it come off the post. Scotland really should be ahead. They've passed up three big chances.

  20. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Iceland 0-0 Scotland

    How are Scotland not ahead?

First, Sophie Howard cracks a header off the post at a corner, before Rachel Corsie side-foots an effort wide despite being free at the back-post.

That's three huge chances in a matter of moments.
