  4. 'There was only one team on the pitch'published at 18:32 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 3-3 Brentford

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's a great point because the football is like this, we deserved to win. We shot I don't know how many times - in two games with them, I don't know, maybe 50 or 60 times but at the end, one point is great.

"There are a lot of games until the end of the season and we will going forward playing like today because we played in a fantastic way. I can say nothing about my players because I am very pleased with their performance.

"I'm enjoying a lot, I love these players, I love this team. We conceded three goals... very, very incredible. I don't think Brentford know how they scored the goals and we have to improve in these situations but there was only one team on the pitch.

"If you attack, you can concede some goals. That isn't a problem because it is impossible to not concede goals home or away. But the way we did was bad. Set pieces for the first and last. The second? I don't understand. It is difficult to accept and understand this goal."

On a second handball: "I don't know. In the last minute of game we were trying to win the game and it was going in our direction. But the whole trend of the game was for us."

On getting into Europe: "If you watch and analyse the game, we're a very good team, a tough team with good players. So I think so."

  5. 'Nine finals in front of us'published at 18:30 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui to BBC Sport: "Always to have one point more is important. It's very difficult here against a very good team.

"We have overcome one bad moment when they were winning 1-0. We scored a very good goal with Daniel Podence.

"We have to continue. We have nine finals in front of us.

"One thing is emotion but the important thing is respect. I always try to respect a lot.

"We have to put our 100% focus on the next game."

On Ruben Neves' ban: "He's a very important player for us. We have to choose another player to prepare and to believe in him and trust him. It's a pity."

  6. 'Huge weight off our shoulders'published at 18:28 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-1 Leicester

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:

"It has been a very long time [since I scored], but I think I deserved this one because I worked so hard for the team.

"For me, for the team, for the club, for everybody, it was a huge weight off the shoulders to win today. Hopefully more goals will come soon too."

  7. 'We switched off completely'published at 18:26 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    FT: Bournemouth 2-1 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva to BBC MOTD:

"It was a completely different [game in the second half] and difficult to take. We were so clearly the better team in the first half. It was a very good performance and a very good goal we scored.

"I think we had a little bit [of a] lack of a killer instinct in the second half because we were so much the better team. We should have created more chances, we had the spaces and were able to play in the areas we wanted to play.

"I told the players at half-time the reaction will come for sure. They will bring on [Marcus] Tavernier and [Ryan] Christie.

"I expected that. And second half without reason to be honest, I know it was a great goal from Tavernier but still we started the second half completely switched off. There is no reason for that.

"It gave them the belief that they could match us and go for the game. We lost the confidence and conceded the goal, it was a clear sloppy moment from ourselves and we were punished by that.

"It was a strong reaction from them and of course, we lost control of the game."

[On Bournemouth's second goal] "We switched off completely, we were punished by that, it was sloppy."

Thomas Tuchel's Bayern Munich giving Borussia Dortmund a 3-0 stuffing after half an hour won't be going unnoticed by Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge. As Joni Mitchell once sang, "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone."

#PotterOut this is embarrassing he is nowhere good enough he is an unproven manager that can not handle this level.

  10. 'Potter will be scratching his head'published at 18:22 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    HT: Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's been a superb first-half to watch with the intensity shown, so credit to both teams.

Ollie Watkins is the only one that's had that little bit extra but it could easily be 4-4 with the amount of chances both teams have had.

Graham Potter will be scratching his head at how they're not back in this game. They've probably had five or six good chances.

Unai Emery will be the happier of the two managers.

But both teams can't keep that intensity up in the second-half.

  11. 'Excellent decision'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

It was a really good header from Chilwell but two arms in the back of Ashley Young in the air.

    Excellent decision from the referee.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

Boos at half-time from the home fans. Are they aimed at the referee or Chelsea? A great game full of incidents.

  14. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

Ben Chilwell has the ball in the back of the Villa net but Andy Madley says no goal. Was there a push? The referee seems to think so and Chelsea's celebrations are ended abruptly.

  17. 'Electric on the counter-attack'published at 18:11 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Both teams have been electric on the counter-attack. They're both throwing bodies upfront.

I think both managers will want to see their teams a bit more secure in possession because a lot of the chances are coming from being caught out.

  18. Postpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa

Very little for Chelsea to cheer about so far but I'll tell you what...this is a cracking watch. Chelsea are creating lots of chances. Villa are so dangerous on the counter.

Potter putting out that defence is a disgrace! James is the best wing back in the country and he plays RLC there. Our two worst centre backs play instead of the two on the bench. That goal was coming for the whole half. Let’s hope we have time to score. Martinez looking good.
