    That's all from us today.

That's one of five games which also includes Fulham v title chasing Manchester City.

    See you then!

  2. 'We showed we're not on the beach'published at 18:15 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank: "It is another good example of randomness in football. I don't think we performed that well to be honest.

"We had a six-match winless run and now won the last two - the performances in the last two have arguably been worse than the six where we didn't win.

"But it was a good win and I loved the way the players stayed in the game. We didn't play that well.

"I would like to give Nottingham Forest lot of credit, they were difficult to play against and break down. They had one chance, got a deflection and scored.

"But the determination and will-power shows we're not on the beach and doing everything we can to finish as high as we can - finishing as high as we can means everything to us.

"We will push, we have four very difficult games left - one of the most difficult of the season, away at Liverpool.

"We will start with that, see if we can win that and then see what happens."

  3. 'I hope VAR got it right'published at 18:12 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Brentford's second goal: "I just really, really hope they've got it right. And I'm still waiting to see an absolute clear image that it's right. I can tell by your colleagues' questions that it's a mixed feeling around that. I just hope and pray that - I'm not sure who's on VAR - that he's not made an assumption. I hope he has made it on fact, because if he hasn't it will play out, won't it?"

Can you stay up? "I see it every day. You've seen it over the last few games, the really together group. We've given anything and even like today when it's a tired game and hot, and we are doing everything we can to win the game, you don't see anyone cutting corners. In fact, it's quite the opposite. We are going to need that and when we have had positive performances and results that's been the case. We've just got to stay together."

  4. 'All eyes on Monday night now'published at 18:11 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Final Score

Forest had a chance to leapfrog out of trouble, but couldn't take it.

What a match that is now on Monday night, between those two teams - Leicester and Everton.

  5. 'We showed our human qualities'published at 18:05 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 6-0 Wolves

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "The best game as a coach. We make a mistake if we think only of style, of quality of play. Today we show our quality as a person, as a man, because we suffered a lot against Man United in the semi-final, we suffered a lot after enduring the Nottingham Forest game and today I think the people can understand the level of my players in terms of human quality.

"I change five players from Nottingham, for players that are not playing, like Denis Undav, like Billy Gilmour. They had a fantastic game and I am very happy. I am delighted for the level of my guys."

How much potential does Jose Enciso have? "A lot. He has to improve to understand the different moment inside the game, but he is very young, he's like my son. He is the same age. We have a lot of young players with big potential. My work is to help them."

  6. A high-scoring afternoonpublished at 18:03 BST 29 April 2023

There were 16 goals scored across three Premier League games today which is the joint-most in the competition's history on a day with a maximum of three games, along with 19 August 2018.

    The scores that day were:

    Brighton 3-2 Man Utd

    Burnley 1-3 Watford

    Man City 6-1 Huddersfield

  7. How Forest's lead unravelledpublished at 18:00 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Hanging on, I woudn't quite say that. Forest had given themselves something to hold on to. You look at what Thomas Frank had to do to try and improve Brentford's performance. Brentford weren't quite at it, or playing with the intensity you normally see from them.

Cheikhou Kouyate comes on and gives away a silly free-kick. Even if the wall is not correct, Keylor Navas should get across and save it.

At 1-1, you think, ok take the 1-1, it's not a bad result. But then Danilo gets injured and they're down to 10 men.

    They'll be disappointed.

More from Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi: "I am delighted for the performance and for my players. I am lucky to work with these guys.

"I don't want to talk about tactical position and state of play, I only want to talk about the attitude and passion.

"I am pleased for Undav. I am sorry for Veltman [after his injury], I hope it won't be a big problem. Now we are ready to finish the season in the best way.

"Undav has big potential. He has to believe more in himself, only this. Gilmour played a fantastic game. It is more difficult for him because he isn't playing too much.

"It is an exciting time. We want to achieve our targets. We are fighting. Results are not everything in football, the style and DNA is important but if we deserve to achieve our target we have to achieve it."

  9. 'I'm very pleased Toney is a Brentford player'published at 17:53 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank speaking to BBC MOTD: "It's not the best performance of the season, definitely not. The last two performances have not been in our top 5 or top 10 this season but they gave us two wins. Now we get two wins and the feeling is so much better. Nottingham Forest did a good job to make it difficult for us. They scored with their one chance and made it even more difficult because they are fighting relegation.

"These margins were not going our way with the first goal then we got it with Ivan Toney. Big praise to him as he's had a brilliant season. 20 goals is remarkable. How many would he score at a top six club? I'm very pleased that he is a Brentford player!

"In general his all round game. His link-up play and hold-up play is at the top international level. His ability to finish is of course composed and very good technically. As a character and a leader he is a big driver of the team."

On surpassing 50 points: "I like that landmark more than the 40 points everyone talks about. I'm not used to that. We want more. We will see if we can get that."

On the VAR decision: "I didn't watch it. I never do that. I just stand and pray it is a goal."

  10. 'It's cost us the game'published at 17:51 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper to BBC MOTD: "It's a sense of massive disappointment. One got away. It was always going to be a tired game with a three-game week. It was going to be a game of small margins. We scored off a long throw then we needed to manage the game. We felt in a comfortable position. They had the ball but weren't really creating a lot of chances. Then the two goals were disappointing that we gave away. It's cost us the game.

"We have to stick together with the players more than ever now after a result like that but we have to do everything right for all the game, that's the disappointment."

On losing Danilo for stoppage-time and playing with 10 men: "It's not the first time that's happened unfortunately. Danilo is a fantastic athlete and a fit boy. We needed to make decisions on freshness. When you go 1-0 up and you're managing it, you try to have the right profiles in. He was one we thought would help us see it out but things just didn't go our way. We'll find out in the next few days [what the injury is]."

On the VAR decision: "It's something I hope they got right. If they haven't then it's obviously a massive call. Let's allow it to play out but I really hope it was the right call. If it was on a judgement call that would be particularly disappointing.

"To lose as late as we did will be a tough one to take but we're in the situation we're in and we have to fight as much as we can. There's no questions of [belief]. The reality is we could have got something out of all three of them. There's no complaints on spirit or fight. It's just decision-making. It's something we're desperate to improve on."

  11. 'A very bad day in all situations'published at 17:48 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 6-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui, speaking to BBC MOTD: "We are sorry a lot for our fans. Today we had a very bad day in all the situations. We suffered very early, one goal, two goals. When you have this kind of day the responsibility is the coach.

"Tomorrow we have to go forward with the best face because we are in the middle of the battle and we have to be ready for the next war.

"We have worked very hard this season and for today for a lot of reasons we have lost 6-0 and when you lose like that you have to be able to recover your energy. We had big mistakes. The responsibility is the coach's.

"We have to be ready for the next fight because we are better than we showed today.

"We have to remember four months ago we were in the bottom but at least now we have hope. Together we have to push a lot in the next match."

  12. 'Uncomfortable few weeks ahead for West Ham fans'published at 17:45 BST 29 April 2023

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on Final Score

Here we go: West Ham currently sit on 34 points.

Up next they have Man City away, Man United at home. You look at that and think, possibly they won't pick up any points from those games.

Then it's Leeds at home. That is where they will be looking to pick their points up and to assure their safety.

For West Ham fans, it may be a few weeks now where they will be thinking "We're in huge trouble."

  13. 'It's a tough one to take'published at 17:42 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper to Sky Sports: "It's a tough one to take. I felt the game would be decided on small margins and decision-making and that ended up being the case. It was great to go 1-0 up when we did.

"We were comfortable. I know we didn't have the ball and we didn't threaten Brentford too much, but I didn't see us conceding. Unfortunately the decision-making we made around the two goals could cost us."

On the VAR decision: "I just hope they got it right. I'm wondering which part was offside. Maybe I need to see more images. I hope they've not assumed and made a judgement call. You need those decisions to be based on fact."

Most important thing needed to stay up? "Picking up points is the obvious one. There is no lack of togetherness, fight or will. We were accepting that Brentford would have the ball but we weren't getting played through. We defended set-pieces well largely today. We fell short on the two goals and it's cost us."

Seen enough to give you belief to stay up? "I've seen enough every day in terms of the application and quality. We have shown that in all three games this week. We could have got something out of them but we didn't. We have to keep going."

  14. 'Brighton showed exactly what they're about today'published at 17:39 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 6-0 Wolves

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Final Score

With this result today, Brighton are right on the tails of Liverpool.

They are going to be pushing right until the end of the season for their first ever European adventure.

    It's so exciting.

Today they put in an exemplary performance and showed exactly what they are about. It was there for everyone to see.

  15. Postpublished at 17:36 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's so frustrating to go 1-0 up just before half-time and basically throw away the hard-earned three points.

"Not seen the goals back but it looks like we're our own worst enemy again. We played pretty solidly defensively and the shape was there.

"Maybe an outsider might say it is a bit negative but you do anything to get points at this level.

"The reason we conceded two goals after being 1-0 up is frustrating.

"We should be more of capable of defending our own box and giving Keylor [Navas] some respite.

"We're still alive, we're still in it and got points to play for. That's what makes it such an exciting league. Today was not our day.

"Some results have our way and rode our luck, some we've been hammered."

  16. 'I didn't recognise my team'published at 17:34 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 6-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui: "Today I don't recognise my team. That is why we have to look to the next match with the best face, recover with energy and be ready for the fight.

"We have to overcome this moment as a team. We are in the middle of the battle. We have worked very hard the last four or five months. We have to fight very hard to achieve our aim."

  17. 'We deserve to finish in Europe'published at 17:30 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brighton 6-0 Wolves

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I decided to change five players to give more energy. I am very delighted for the performance, for the guys and not the result.

"We suffered a lot in the last two games. This answer today was fantastic. I have no doubt about the level of the people inside the dressing room. This is a great answer.

"I am not surprised. I love my players, it is an honour to work here. I am honest when I speak like this. The level of the players is fantastic. Today was my best game as a coach. Now we have to prepare for the next game on Thursday with Manchester United. I think we deserve to achieve our target, Europe, but we shall see.

"Every day is a pleasure to learn something from them. They are great, great players. We have another challenge this year. We can achieve. The most important is not to lose our DNA and style."

  18. 'Frank and Brentford keep impressing'published at 17:27 BST 29 April 2023

    FT: Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Final Score

They've turned the G-Tech stadium into a fortress.

Thomas Frank was very calm in the second half, made all five substitutions at different stages, all attack-minded players, initially to try and push for an equaliser and then for the winner.

You just have to keep being impressed with what Thomas Frank and his squad have done.

There was no pressing of the emergency button, they remained calm and stuck to the plan, and got the result.

    Ivan ToneyImage source, Reuters

Brentford striker Ivan Toney on whether it was his goal or an own goal: "100% mine. I saw the ball swerve, dip and bounce off the grass. The first thing I did was go in and check the goal was mine. I watched it and it was, 100%.

"Just being in the right place at the right time [is how I can keep scoring]. You score most of your goals in the box. I'm sure my team-mates will keep delivering for me.

"I wanted to get the winner and happily Josh DaSilva came on and got it for us. To be honest, no [I didn't think a goal was coming]. But I knew we had quality across the squad to come on and get it.

"We didn't play our best. Sometimes you have to find a way to win and we did it ugly today. I think Forest are a great side, dug in well and if they stick at it they give themselves a chance of staying in the league.

"It's still possible [for European football] but we have to focus on ourselves and give ourselves a chance."
