Here's how the top of the Championship looks after tonight's game.

Blackburn are now nine points off second place and have played a game more than their rivals.

A sobering evening for Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson. Are their automatic promotion hopes over?

You have to look for a reaction now. They've been doing well but now they need to start again against Reading in midweek and try to get back to winning football matches.

I bet that was a tense Stoke bench in the final five minutes.

But they saw out the win and pulled off a fantastic win over one of the form sides in the Championship.

Blackburn will be unhappy with that first 80-odd minutes, however.

Over the 90 minutes Blackburn have not been good enough, they've not been at the races.

They scored a couple of goals at the end but they didn't really deserve anything.

Once Stoke got into the game they bossed midfield and they missed a couple of chances, so it could have been worse for Rovers.

They have been in good form but eight or nine haven't really shown up for Rovers today and if that happens you're not going to win anything.

Third-placed Middlesbrough and second-placed Sheffield United breathe a sigh of relief after that.

Stoke have moved up to 13th following that victory over Blackburn.

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson will be doing his fruit when he sees a playback of just how bad the defending was for that third Stoke goal.

So many chances to stop Josh Laurent but he just barged and weaved in and out and of limp challenges like a London double decker bus in a stock car race. Embarrassing.

Eight goals in two games for the Potters now. Game over.
