England made a sloppy start but have really settled to their task and have a goal to show for it. Jude Bellingham has already made a couple of surging runs through midfield.

Italy are getting bodies high and wide but they are very flat.

The ball in the front line just isn't there for them at the moment. They need to do something different.

Kalvin Phillips pokes it through to Jude Bellingham. He skips past one player, slides it down the middle for Bukayo Saka but he's blocked off on the edge of the box.

Bellingham is running the show in midfield at the moment.

Luke Shaw makes a smart overlapping run on the left and he drills in an inviting low cross but it's read well by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is fouled as England win a corner. Italy go straight down the other end but Kyle Walker does well.

It comes to Jude Bellingham and he fires a terrific effort towards goal which Donnarumma has to tip over the bar.

His first touch is superb and he drives in between two defenders. There's no way to stop him other than by a foul and he wins a free-kick inside Italy's half from nothing.

No breakthrough yet for the Northern Irish, who are unsurprisingly having the majority of possession.

They are yet to properly test San Marino centre back Roberto Di Maio, who is remarkably making his international debut at the tender age of 40.

England are under the pump here. They need to keep hold of the ball better. It's a strong Italian press, they are working hard but it has been sloppy from England.

Jack Grealish cuts in off the left and wants a free-kick, appealling for a tug back from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

He doesn't get anything and Italy break before John Stones coolly lays it off to Luke Shaw.

Kalvin Phillips is robbed of possession by Nicolo Barella and it's Harry Kane, of all people, defending on the edge of the England box. Italy win a corner though.

The Italians have come out of the blocks firing. England have not settled well at all.

With the game in Lisbon underway, Cristiano Ronaldo is now the most capped men's international footballer of all time.

His start against Liechtenstein this evening is his 197th cap for Portugal.
