I think those changes are a little premature.
If they get back in the game then it is genius from Rob Page but if they end up losing it by a few and lose momentum then you will question that.

They are very brave substitutions. I don't think Ramsey is carrying any kind of injury.
It seems a bit early when they have built some momentum. Ramsey was finding little bits of space.
The other two substitutions make a bit more sense.

Aaron Ramsey, somewhat surprisingly, is off. Harry Wilson and Dan James also make way in a triple substitution.
Nathan Broadhead is on for his debut alongside his Ipswich team-mate Wes Burns, while Sorba Thomas also enters the fray.

That's great play by Wales, Harry Wilson puts a lovely flat diagonal in and just tempts Dan James who could have taken a touch and planted it but decided to take the volley on and just didn't catch it right.
Good play by Wales, it should give them a bit more confidence.
Croatia 1-0 Wales
Wales are competing much better here. Croatia are being made to think for almost the first time.

Harry Wilson does well down the right.
Aaron Ramsey then gathers possession and gives it back to Wilson, whose deep cross reaches the unmarked Dan James at the back post.

Wales are showing a little bit more.
We are a bit closer to second balls now, it's not so easy for Croatia.
It's a lot more front foot from Wales in this second half.

Wales are in the game, a bit more belief, a bit more desire.
They are trailing 1-0 without playing anywhere near their best.

Connor Roberts is making the run forward, they lose the ball as he's tracking back and he is calling to his centre half - you should be across in the space.
Mepham should be half-covering that just in case.
Just little things that end up costing you.

Croatia are forced into a change as Petar Musa comes on for his debut, in place of the injured Marko Livaja.

I think Robert Page maybe just gave Wales a little kick up the backside.
Because you are still in it, have a little bit more belief in yourselves in possession.
They still need that quality in the final third, but it's been a brighter start - even if Kovacic should have scored.

I think he was already celebrating.

Wales have shown some purpose at the start of the second half, yet they should now be 2-0 down.
Mateo Kovacic bursts into the box to meet Andrej Kamaric's knockdown but lifts the ball wastefully over the top.
A huge chance, that.
