Not a good night but it's a draw. It's not a defeat. The unbeaten home run continues.

You can't always play great. Tonight is about Sunderland, they organised ever so well.

There's some disappointment from the fans and players but it's about the journey of getting to the Premier League.

That wasn't a classic, was it? But Burnley's unbeaten run at home remains intact.

There was no sting in the tail from Sunderland late on but it was a valiant effort from the Black Cats who defended well and kept the visitors at bay.

The Black Cats thought they'd scored after a corner is played short and eventually Abdoullah Ba puts the ball in the net but he's correctly called offside.

Callum Hendry's early second-half goal earned Salford a point at fellow promotion chasers Stockport.

Harrogate edged a further point towards safety with a draw at Tranmere.

That was Manuel Benson's final bit of action as he's replaced for Burnley.

Vitinho replaces him shortly after Burnley's corner goes out for a Sunderland goal-kick.

Good stuff from Johann Berg Gudmunsson to find Manuel Benson with a cross as Burnley go on the attack.

He chooses not to hit it first time, takes a heavy touch, and Sunderland put the ball out for a corner.

Ashley Barnes comes off for Burnley. He's replaced by Michael Obafemi.

Just over 10 minutes remain.

Manuel Benson is causing Sunderland some problems at the minute and his good work leads to the visitors eventually conceding a corner.

However Burnley squander their chance to take advantage as Sunderland swiftly win a goal kick.

Patrick Roberts comes off for Sunderland. Isaac Lihadji comes on in his place. Meanwhile Alex Pritchard is replaced by Abdoullah Ba.

Boos go up as the visitors take their time in making their double change.

Manuel Benson picks up possession for Burnley on the right flank, turns and works some space to get a shot away.

But his effort goes high and wide over the Sunderland goal.

Less than 20 minutes to go and it's still goalless.

Sunderland have done well here to hold Burnley.

But do we have a late goal in this one?

Sunderland put the pressure on Burnley now and go close to taking the lead.

Amad Diallo sends a deflected shot in from the edge of the box, it loops over Burnley goalkeeper Ari Muric and bounces off the bar.

The hosts then clear their lines.

Anass Zaroury makes way for Burnley as the hosts make a change.
