That's another great chance for Dion Charles. Plymouth's defence is being ripped to shreds but Charles snatched at it.

The Plymouth keeper Callum Burton is furious - it's so easy for Bolton to get in behind their defence.

Every time Bolton pour forward they look like they're going to score.

Kyle Dempsey is at the heart of absolutely everything.

His pass tees up fellow goalscorer Dion Charles, who this time is leaning back and fires well over.

    John McGinlay
Ex-Bolton striker on BBC Radio Manchester

He's gone through one v one, the keeper stayed big and made Dempsey make his mind up and ended up with quite an easy save. That should be 3-0.

It could be 4-0 but Plymouth have started having glimpses.

  4. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 30 mins

    Bolton 2-0 Plymouth

Plymouth fans directly to my right appeal for their lives - Bali Mumba plays a neat one-two with James Wilson and goes down under a challenge in the box, nothing given.

Bolton go straight down the other end and after more incisive play Kyle Dempsey is completely in on goal, but he telegraphs his finish and it's a surprisingly easy save for Callum Burton.

Dempsey could've had a hat-trick and Bolton should be out of sight.

Josh Sheehan is having a game to remember in the Bolton midfield.

The 28-year-old is at the centre of everything for the Trotters so far as his side's midfield has won the battle in the opening quarter here at Wembley.

It has allowed Dempsey the freedom to terrorise Plymouth down the right, and with Conor Bradley now having confidence to bomb on as well it could be along afternoon for the Devon side.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 26 mins

Plymouth come as close as they've gone so far.

Jordan Houghton slips a ball through to Ryan Hardie and his one-touch finish is deflected behind by the legs of Bolton keeper James Trafford.

Bolton are making the pitch look absolutely massive, there are spaces everywhere. Plymouth need to get to grips with this quickly or Steven Schumacher is going to have to make some changes.

  9. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Bolton 2-0 Plymouth

Bolton are slicing their opponents open at free will.

Their passing and energy is a level above at the moment.

Their latest move ends with a cutback to Kyle Dempsey - who is only denied his second of the game by a frantic grab off the line by Plymouth keeper Callum Burton.

    Bolton 2-0 Plymouth

Plymouth's Callum Wright beats a player or two and has a go from 20 yards, but he drags his low shot wide of the far post.

The Argyle faithful are still well behind their side.

    Bolton 2-0 Plymouth

On my way to Wembley I overheard a couple pessimistic Bolton fans - they'd seen their side thrashed 5-0 by Stoke on their last visit to the national stadium in 2011 and feared similar today.

They needn't have. It's still early but they've looked half a yard quicker than the Plymouth players so far.

But we know Argyle have a lot of mettle and will not let this go on much longer.

    Bolton 2-0 Plymouth

Plymouth are three places and SIXTEEN points above Bolton in the League One table - Wanderers hadn't even scored against them in their past five meetings.

But this is what can happen in a cup final.

Ian Evatt's side have burst out of the traps and thoroughly deserve this lead.

A goal of the very highest quality!

Bolton win the ball back in their own half and break with searing pace and one or two-touch play.

Dempsey was all on his own at the back post and has looped his header into the net. It's a brilliant start for Bolton Wanderers.

He got above James Wilson and gave the keeper no chance. What a header!

Bolton Wanderers have an early breakthrough in this Wembley final!

Declan John's left-footed outswinging corner finds Kyle Dempsey unmarked at the back post, and it's a fine looping header into the goal.

Plymouth's marking leaves a lot to be desired and the Trotters take full advantage.

I think he had a bit of Ryan Hardie's shirt but not enough to make the referee make a decision. But it shows Hardie's threat in behind.
