What a start to the weekend of Championship football with that Boro demolition job.

Tomorrow, there are 11 more fixtures stretching across almost 10 hours with something riding on every single one of them.

It promises to be a belter.

Norwich have to regroup, and quickly, ahead of their final four games.

The Canaries have winnable matches, but can they recover from this mauling in time to grab the (minimum) three wins they will need?

Tonight's result sets Middlesbrough up perfectly for their last few games. That trip to Kenilworth Road in ten days' time looks an intriguing one.

So with these three points, Middlesbrough are up to third - above Luton on goal difference. They are five behind Sheffield United, who have two games in hand.

Norwich remain eighth, still only one point outside the play-offs. But they can only watch tomorrow's action and hope.

This team are good enough to get back on track. Against Bristol City they were 2-0 down and you always expected them to score goals.

Tonight I didn't expect five but they were composed in front of goal.

When you're playing against a side who are challenging and coming here needing three points, they needed to be ruthless and Middlesbrough were.

It's crazy to think that Middlesbrough's form was a bit iffy 90 minutes ago. Not now.

Two for Cameron Archer, one for Aaron Ramsey, one from Hayden Hackney and the customary goal for Chuba Akpom.

On this evidence, nobody will want to face Middlesbrough in the play-offs, and certainly not at the Riverside.

All over. Although it was all over at half-time.

A fantastic five-star night for Middlesbrough. A Friday night fiasco for Norwich.

There are plenty of Norwich fans who have given up and started the journey back to East Anglia.

It will feel like a long one.

I can imagine every single aspect of the club will be dissected by fed-up fans. We've all had post-match journeys like that!

That is a penalty for Norwich all day long. Ryan Giles comes in and catches him. He goes down and rightly so.

Max Aarons is furious.

Never mind an appeal, this should just be a penalty.

Max Aarons is kicked by Ryan Giles in the box, but his slightly dramatic fall probably counts against him.

Referee Josh Smith does not give it and Jacob Sorensen is booked for protesting.

Gabriel Sara fairly fizzes a drive against the post from outside of the box with Zack Steffen well beaten.

Another Middlesbrough change.

This time, Marcus Forss is making way for the popular Isaiah Jones.

The Finn needed a bit of treatment before he went off, so with Aaron Ramsey going off earlier, Boro will not want to have picked up any injuries.

That Chuba Akpom goal was another Championship milestone.

It is Boro's 79th of the season and takes them one clear of Burnley (who have played two games fewer).

This is a miserable night for Norwich.

They won't be creeping into the top six and their goal difference has taken an absolute battering. And their confidence may be going the same way.

Some of their play in-between boxes has been decent. But there has been a chasm between the two sides in the key areas.
