Nicholas Walker: Terrible dive. FA should fine teams after for doing that sort of thing. Disgusting.

    James: Never ever a penalty.

I don't think it's a penalty. I think Zack Steffen pulls his arm away. Someone has messaged me saying it's the worst decision they've ever seen. I've seen it again, Morris slides in, Steffen pulls out. I think it's a real harsh decision. If you look at the way he goes down, Steffen slides in and I don't think there is a touch.

    Carlton Morris pen

That will burn Michael Carrick, and certainly burn Middlesbrough goalkeeper Zack Steffen, as he can only watch Carlton Morris coolly slot the ball into the opposite corner for Luton's second.

Morris took a brilliant Jordan Clark pass but got his feet wrong, stumbling, a loose touch, forcing him wide of the box, and Steffen although diving, seemed to pull out without touching.

Morris went down. Penalty given. The striker sends Steffen the wrong way for his 20th goal of the campaign.

That gentleman's agreement comment from earlier? Forget it. Cameron Archer and Marvelous Nakamba went full throttle for a loose ball, and the Luton man got a set-piece for the foul.

    They want it.

    Luton 1-1 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough nudge the ball about on the edge of the Luton box before striking, with Matt Crooks just lofting a ball for the onrushing Isaiah Jones to meet, but it's cleared.

The corner in causes mild panic before the home side nod clear.

Further evidence that Boro haven't been spooked by the leveller.

    Luton 1-1 Middlesbrough

Heart-in-mouth moment for Luton, as Middlesbrough winger Isaiah Jones gets beyond his man to the byline, but the cross is dealt with.

Always a threat with that urgent pace.

    Luton 1-1 Middlesbrough

Wasteful effort from Alfie Doughty on the left of the box, wrapping his boot around a bouncing ball which seared over high and wide.

Great work from Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu to bring it down and Elijah Adebayo to pick him out with a header as Boro failed to clear.

Matt Crooks flashes just wide for Middlesbrough! It's so close.

Ryan Giles powers down the left and sends in a fine ball.

Meanwhile, I'm sure it was subconscious, but Cameron Archer was hassling Luton but stood off a bit when Marvelous Nakamba got the ball.

Gentleman's agreement between the two Villa loanees? Only kidding of course, but he certainly didn't press like he did on Amari'i Bell!

    Luton 1-1 Middlesbrough

All you could hear for a while in that first half was a vocal mob of Boro fans but that goal has truly electrified the Hatters' faithful.

They need to be hopeful their team don't fall in love with themselves on the back of that though, as Isaiah Jones gets down the right and whistles in a cross which Cameron Archer connects with, scuffing harmlessly for Ethan Horvath to gather.

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

It's a simple header, he doesn't get picked up, it's a free header and he glances it in off the post and they're back level.

That's what they're all about - set pieces you have to stick with your runners. The ball is not even in the air, he has to stoop to head it, someone's got to be with him. It's 1-1 and there's a long way to go now.

  16. goal

GOAL: Luton 1-1 Middlesbroughpublished at 49 mins

    Tom Lockyer

    WHAM! That's an equaliser.

Luton force another corner down the left, and Alfie Doughty winds up the delivery.

It zings into the box and Tom Lockyer times his run to power a thumping header in off the post with Zack Steffen sat on his heels.

    Absolute bullet. Meaty connection.

Luton get another shot across Boro's bows.

Tom Lockyer drops a terrific ball over the top of Ryan Giles on the right, and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu thumps a cross in which is cleared for a corner.

The set-piece pinballs about before Boro swipe it clear.

Was interesting to see Rob Edwards wandering up the touchline for the second-half. Glum. Looked like a bloke who'd just been forced to leave the Love Island villa. Handsome lucky beggar.

Michael Carrick wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs either. But he'll the warm glow of his expensive coat and a goal lead keeping him happy behind the exterior.

  19. SECOND HALFpublished at 46 mins

Here we go then. The bosses and their various staff have made the long traipse across the pitch to their benches.

Luton trailing, Boro in front. Could this be a play-off dress rehearsal?

Either way, it's an important game in itself. Forty-five to go.

There's 15 miles in the car between Burnley's Turf Moor and Blackburn's Ewood Park, and the rivalry befits two sides in such close proximity.

Derbies are always furious, but this one has extra edge.

Win, and Burnley are champions, while sticking a giant spanner in Blackburn's play-off bid works.

Conversely, stuff up the Clarets champagne-popping and help your own play-off bid? Great incentive for Rovers.

Blackburn v Burnley. It all happens tomorrow night, and we'll be following it here on BBC Sport, naturally.
