Summary

  • Rangers nine points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic

  • Dundee United bottom, two points below Ross County

  1. FULL-TIME St Mirren 3-0 Livingstonpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

A truly comprehensive performance from the home side as Stephen Robinson's side climb to fifth in the table, leapfrogging both Livingston and Hibernian.

David Martindale's side were uncharacteristically easy to play around and were outplayed by St Mirren, particularly in the opening 45 when they conceded three.

  2. FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 2-1 Heartspublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

Kilmarnock held on with 10 men for the final half hour to beat Hearts and move six points clear of the bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Hearts led after Lawrence Shankland lasered one in, before goalkeeper Zander Clark made the first of two mistakes to hand Kilmarnock the win.

First, he conceded a penalty after spilling a shot then wiping out Kyle Vassell - Danny Armstrong dispatching the resulting spot-kick - then Clark flapped at a cross, allowing Christian Doidge to bundle in.

Rory McKenzie was then sent off after catching Jorge Grant around the knee with a challenge, but Kilmarnock were able to hang on for a potentially priceless three points.

Derek McInnes' side are now six points above Dundee United, while Hearts are now just a point ahead of Aberdeen in third place.

  3. FULL-TIME St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeenpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

St Johnstone hit the woodwork through Liam Gordon in the dying seconds as Aberdeen just hold on for all three points.

Angus MacDonald's goal the difference with St Johnstone's Andy Considine sent off in the first half and Aberdeen's Graeme Shinnie dismissed in the second.

  4. FULL-TIME - Hibernian 1-3 Motherwellpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

The Motherwell resurgence under Stuart Kettlewell continues. That's now four wins in his six games in charge.

The visitors scored two tremendous free-kicks - from Sean Goss and Kevin van Veen - and a Van Veen penalty to take the win.

Hibs have been pretty meek in attack, with Kevin Nisbet's header not enough to spark a response.

"How much added time?!" scream some of the Killie fans around me. Seven long minutes, that's how long, and they don't like fourth official Alan Muir one bit for signalling it on the electronic scoreboard.

Three sides of Rugby Park rise to their feet to acclaim a potential new star. Eighteen-year-old David Watson, after playing 87 minutes against Robert Snodgrass and co, comes off to a standing ovation.

He nearly got a goal to add to his fine overall display in the Killie engine room. I think this is only his third Premiership game. Hasn't looked out of place, not for a second.

And as things stand, he's contributed to a massive win for his team, down to 10 men, and with time running out for Hearts to equalise.

Partick Thistle may not have been as prolific as Dundee today but five goals is still a healthy return.

    Rangers 2-0 Dundee United

Great chance for Antonio Colak to score with his first touch after coming off the bench, but the striker can only send his header wide.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

    Chances at both ends.

St Johnstone wing-back Drey Wright is just unable to connect properly with a cross at the back post and then Aberdeen substitute Ryan Duncan flashes a drive wide from just inside the penalty box.

    St Mirren 3-0 Livingston

For all of the first 45 minutes of frenetic action, St Mirren have managed this second half well as the game enters the final 10 minutes or so.

At a time in a game like this where you may expect Livingston to start coming in waves, the home side are still pushing forward themselves.

    Kilmarnock 2-1 Hearts

Hearts are putting a bit of pressure on Sam Walker's goal, and in their final change they've brought on Yutaro Oda for Josh Ginnelly.

He is yet to score for his new club. A goal now would be very warmly received.

  18. goal

GOAL Hibernian 1-3 Motherwellpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Kevin van Veen

    It's another beautiful free-kick!

This time Kevin Van Veen takes it from the left-hand side of the box, and the Dutchman finds the far corner for his 16th Premiership goal of the season.

Some Hibs fans head for the exit.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Aberdeen

Great chance for St Johnstone to equalise on the break.

Stevie May's cross is met by Melker Hallberg, but the midfielder's downward header is easily saved on the line by goalkeeper Kelle Roos.

First real chance of the second half goes to the 10 men, but they are running out of time.

  20. RED CARD Charlie Fox (Queen's Park)published at 16:39 British Summer Time 1 April 2023

    Raith Rovers 2-0 Queen's Park

More misery for Queen's Park as Charlie Fox is dismissed following a foul on Sam Stanton.
