So that's all from us at the Cardiff City Stadium after a thumping win for Wales.

That won't quite make up for not qualifying for Euro 2022, but Wales certainly got a measure of revenge over a Northern Ireland team that were totally outplayed.

Wales, silly as it sounds, might be disappointed to only win 4-1, such was their dominance.

It sets Wales up nicely for their trip to Portugal next week, while Northern Ireland will look to the future under a new manager.

Thanks for following along with us, have a good evening and a lovely Easter weekend.

    Nos da.

I thought Hannah Cain was fantastic tonight. It is looking promising for the future.

You talk to the players and Wales seems to be their priority and you can see that.

  3. Cain 'absolutely buzzing' with first Wales goalpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 6 April 2023

    FT: Wales 4-1 Northern Ireland

Wales goalscorer Hannah Cain told BBC Two Wales: "You can tell from the smile on my face, I can't stop smiling and I'm absolutely buzzing.

"I really wanted to score tonight and I did it, I told everyone beforehand and the girls did so well, I'm so chuffed.

"I thought I was fast but those two girls (Ceri Holland and Rachel Rowe) are so quick, I wouldn't want to be any defence against us."

Wales stepped off the gas in the second half but overall it has been far too easy for Wales.

It has been great to see them take those opportunities because in the past they have squandered chances. Lauren Wade did provide the best finish of the game though for Northern Ireland.
