Gemma Grainger was brave to go without a coat earlier. The coat is now on. Very sensible.

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland concede possession from their own free-kick and how open they are to the counter-attack is alarming. What are they doing?

Wales overhit the cross, but that could have been 4-0 with more composure.

    The visitors need half-time badly.

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

    Corner for Northern Ireland.

Literally their first opportunity of the match.

Marissa Callaghan sees an effort blocked and then Sarah McFadden shoots, but that one is bound for the athletics stadium over the road.

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

Every time we've seen Hannah Cain in a Wales shirt she has looked like she's got a goal in her.

She's now off the mark for Wales.

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

Wales look much stronger than Northern Ireland.

Mystifying and massively to the credit of Northern Ireland that they qualified for Euro 2022 and Wales didn't.

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

Rhiannon Roberts heads wide from a corner.

Wales are completely and utterly in control of this game.

Northern Ireland look badly off the pace.

  9. Poor Northern Ireland defencepublished at 32 mins

    Wales 3-0 Northern Ireland

    Jo Price
Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

Poor defending from Northern Ireland there. It was a perfect position for Hannah Cain who was in acres of space. Northern Ireland were calling for offside but she was always onside.

    Hannah Cain

    Wales are rampant!

Hannah Cain finishes from six-yards out after Rhiannon Roberts' pinpoint cross.

Ceri Holland started the move when Northern Ireland stood off her in the penalty area.

Excellent from Wales, diabolical from Northern Ireland.

    Wales 2-0 Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland keep conceding possession in their final third by playing short passes from goal-kicks.

They really should stop doing that.

  12. 'Effective and clever'published at 28 mins

    Wales 2-0 Northern Ireland

    Kath Morgan
Former Wales captain on BBC Cymru Fyw

Wales were alive to the situation there with the goal. Effective and clever play and hopefully now they can relax for the rest of this half.

    Wales 2-0 Northern Ireland

Freekick for Wales in striking range.

Rachel Rowe fizzes the ball around the wall, but that was always heading wide.

    Wales 2-0 Northern Ireland

    Gwennan Harries

What a great start from these Wales players. They have been at it from the outset. Wales look like they have a clinical edge to them which they haven't always had before.

    Angharad James

And there we are! Mystic Mike.

Angharad James finishes a lovely Wales move, Sophie Ingle's ball over the top is cushioned across goal by Jess Fishlock and James couldn't miss from yards out.

    Wales 1-0 Northern Ireland

Angharad James' weak shot is deflected on by the outstretched boot of Rachel Rowe, but Shannon Turner is able to save comfortably.

Wales have been on top from the first moments.

    A second goal looks likely.

    Wales 1-0 Northern Ireland

    Jo Price
Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

Northern Ireland are playing out from the back and they do try to use their goalkeeper to switch play often. Wales are trying to capitalise on that.

    Wales 1-0 Northern Ireland

Wales try a freekick routine straight off the training ground as Rachel Rowe flicks the ball on, but Rhiannon Roberts just couldn't quite make contact at the back post.

    Andy Gray
BBC Sport NI at the Cardiff City Stadium

After Kenny Shiels departed in late January, Northern Ireland didn't play any fixtures in the February window so this is their first game together in some time.

Five of Northern Ireland's team haven't played a match since November's win over Italy as the new Women's Premiership season hasn't kicked off yet.

So it's fair to say there is some rust there.

You can tell the Welsh team are that little bit sharper getting to that second ball and that opener was deserved.

    Wales 1-0 Northern Ireland

    Gwennan Harries

Rachel Rowe hooked the ball back into an area where she knows somebody is going to be and Jess Fishlock just does what she has done so many times for Wales before.
