Arsenal want to make new history.

People always talk about the only Engllish club to have won the European cu and I was playing at Arsenal when we acheived that. But these players want to make their own history.

They want to not only be in it every year, but they want to win it.

The flow of chances has calmed down a little.

Wolfsburg, who've had more than 60% of possession, send a clearance from their own penalty area straight through to Manuela Zinsberger.

With the back five and midfield four, it seemed before kick off that Blackstenius could become isolated up front.

But she has done so well to link up play, keep possession, drive the press and allow her teammates to come forward.

You've got willing runners in Maanum, Pelova and McCabe to back her up too.

Really brilliant, patient play from Arsenal.

Wolfsburg waste a corner from their left.

Arsenal are closing in on a half-time lead.

Ewa Pajor has a sight of goal inside the penalty area. Her shot is blocked and loops up into the arms of Manuela Zinsberger.

As much as they'd rather not give the competition top scorer this season any chances, there wasn't much to worry Arsenal there.

It's been a strange atmosphere. The early VAR checks and Wolfsburg's hold of possession meant it took a while for things to really get going here.

But since that Arsenal goal, they have looked threatening with every attack and the crowd are in anticipation when Stina Blackstenius gets running.

Wolfsburg clear the corner from Arsenal's right reasonably comfortably.

Tenacious work from Katie McCabe as Arsenal rattle Wolfsburg again, the captain charging down Merle Frohms and forcing the goalkeeper into a hurried pass.

Arsenal win a corner from the ensuing attack.

Stina Blackstenius tries to create danger deep inside Wolfsburg territory but is crowded out.

Arsenal build again from near the halfway line. Svenja Huth defends stoutly to prevent the hosts from finding a way through, and a flag is raised against Steph Catley.

More encouraging for Wolfsburg, who keep possession inside Arsenal's half and get the ball inside the box.

There's a spot of pinball and Alex Popp tries to fire a shot away, but Arsenal eventually clear and win a throw-in.

Arsenal have successive corners, the second of which sees them win possession on the edge of the penalty area.

Stina Blackstenius turns in a patch of space inside the penalty area with Lynn Wilms in attendance. The scorer can only dig her attempt into Merle Frohms's arms.

That issue for Katie McCabe has given Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall time to gather some of his players together near his technical area while they rehydrate.

He'll be quietly pleased with what he's seen on the biggest night of his tenure so far.

Kathrin Hendrich is having a torrid time at the back for Wolfsburg so far. Having looked shaky when both Stina Blackstenis and Victoria Pelova got in behind, Arsenal are now looking to put her up in a foot race at any opportunity.
