Sorry to say but even with only 20 minutes on the clock at St Mary's, its blatantly obvious that many of the players are thinking about their next clubs. One positive thing that Southampton have done this season is to show the world how NOT to run a club. Manager mayhem mess, players that would have made better surfers and a transfer window suitable for "over the park" football. The club and players need to take a long hard look at themselves in utter shame.

United have probably been slightly the better side, but there is not a great deal of difference right now. United are lacking in urgency,

When you consider how important this game is, in the wider sense with the top four and the difference it could make to the players they might be able to buy in the summer, what a massive, massive game this is.

It doesn't quite feel like it on the pitch.

Manchester United need to be organised because Wolves have looked good on the ball and they are being patient to build into some very decent positions.

What a waste of everyone's time. Son Heung-min is clearly offside as he runs onto Harry Kane's through ball, goes round the keeper and hits the post. Then the flag goes up.

Signs of life from the Saints. They work it well down the left and Stuart Armstrong charges forward into space. He looks to cross into the middle but sends his delivery straight at Bernd Leno.

    Not a blockbuster this.

It really is odd watching one of the most expensively-assembled squads in the history of football being so limp and lifeless.

It's not like you can't see that the Chelsea players are extremely talented, but they just can't make it work between them at the moment.

    Chelsea 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Chelsea respond to going behind with a couple of chances of their own.

Raheem Sterling has a sight of goal but sees his effort blocked by a superb sliding block. Soon after a cross is headed out, but only to Lewis Hall, who also can't hammer the ball past the gathered mass of men in red and white.

Anthony Martial runs towards the box and then loses his footing when he has a chance. Not the first time a player has slipped on the Old Trafford turf today.

Bournemouth have had a good few minutes and they look creative in attack. Philip Billing flicks it back to Dominic Solanke but his shot is blocked.

  16. Costa's chance to secure future?published at 15:19 British Summer Time 13 May 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 Wolves

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Now that Wolves are safe you would imagine boss Julen Lopetegui is starting to think about next season and identify players he wants to bring in to build his own side.

One player who has a big question mark over his future is Diego Costa. He joined Wolves earlier this season on a deal until the end of the season but has scored just once. Fifteen minutes into this game and he has touched the ball three times, the fewest of any player on the pitch.

Despite that, he has been praised for playing an important role in Wolves' successful battle against relegation, so will Lopetegui want to give him another deal, or will he look for someone more prolific?

That goal will have registered in a big way in Leeds and Leicester. The blue side of Merseyside too, although they're in ever so slightly better shape than the other two.

    Greg: Penny for Frank's thoughts

Why change the team after recording your first win? Lampard as clueless as ever.

Seth: Anthony has started missing chances again! Honestly, he shouldn't be starting every game. When players play every game irrespective of missing chances consistently they tend to not worry about their positions - ETH is enabling him.
