It has been an amazing league and we didn't want it [the title race] to end tonight.

Obviously it isn't good for City, but with 7,000 people here tonight for the Manchester derby and it has gone right to the wire.

There's still some minutes left too...

Into the final minute and City look spent.

Defeat would almost certainly mean a season without Champions League football for them.

We're more than halfway through the six additional minutes.

City have worked so hard in this second half. Do they have anything left to give?

What a finish from this game, unbelievable!

Pinball in the area and Lucia picks the ball up to smash it into the back of the net.

You've got to feel for the City players, especially because you could question whether Galton was offside in the build up.

    Lucia Garcia

    WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT!?!

Moments after it looked as though they were about to lose it, United have gone down the other end and won it!

The ball is whipped in from the left by Hannah Blundell, Vilde Boe Risa nods it back and Lucia Garcia takes a touch before shooting through a crowd of City players on the line!

United are still in this title race!

What a tackle by Maya Le Tissier.

A great ball across the back line from Kelly and if the United defender hadn't gotten to that Shaw surely would have put it in.

They almost lost the game there.

  9. CLOSE!published at 89 mins

    Man Utd 1-1 Man City

What a block from Maya Le Tissier when Bunny Shaw looked certain to score!

Chloe Kelly created the chance with a superb back heel, got the ball back and played it across to Shaw.

The striker was ready to slide the ball in from 10 yards but Le Tissier threw herself in front of the ball to make the block.

Filippa Angeldahl tries her luck - which has been pretty good so far today! - from distance.

Mary Earps gets right behind the shot to save and hold.

City come forward again and Bunny Shaw wins a corner...

  13. 'United going for the hit and hope approach'published at 20:29 British Summer Time 21 May 2023

    Man Utd 1-1 Man City

It is disappointing that United have gone so direct, kind of a hit and hope still with plenty of time left in this game - the quality has somewhat gone from their play in the last few minutes.

If I was Marc Skinner I would be telling the side to get the ball down and to start playing it on the floor.

City seem to be the side keeping the ball more successfully now.

United take a corner short and while City deal with the first cross that comes in, United just come back at them.

Eventually the ball is crossed to the far post for Millie Turner but her header is easily held by Khiara Keating.

10 minutes left of the game, you just have to give everything now.

Particularly for City, if its a draw United can still secure Champions League but for City they need to win.

United can look at it two ways, they want to win the title, but also they could just think to themselves 'Let's just take the point and solidify Champions League'. With the crowd I don't think that is going to happen though.

I think we are going to have an end to end finale.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 84 mins

City have made another change. Deyna Castellanos is on for Laura Coombs.

    Man Utd 1-1 Man City

Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It was great wing play again down the right from Kelly, and it's a wicked ball in to the back post . Raso didn't really know much about the finish, the ball hit off her chest in the end.

Sadly for her it just went the wrong side of the post.

  18. CLOSE!published at 81 mins

    Man Utd 1-1 Man City

    Chances at both ends!

Firstly it is United as Vilde Boe Risa curls an effort on target that Khiara Keating saves but only pushes as far as Lucia Garcia - but the substitute hits the shot against her own leg.

City then go down the other end, Chloe Kelly spinning away from her marker and putting a brilliant ball across the face of goal.

It comes all the way through to Hayley Raso but she wasn't expecting it and the ball just hits her and goes agonisingly wide of the post.

  19. Postpublished at 80 mins

United are still pushing and Hayley Ladd send a shot just wide of right-hand post from 25 yards.

This is a great result for both Chelsea and Arsenal as it stands.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 78 mins

    Man Utd 1-1 Man City

A few optimistic shouts of "off, off, off" from the home fans as Filippa Angeldahl dives in on Leah Galton.

The referee shows the City goalscorer a yellow card instead. Looked the right decision but Galton definitely felt that one.
