The players are back out for the second half - the roar when the Leicester players came out was quite something. They are 45 minutes from survival.. or the end of their nine-year Premier League stay.

  5. 'Everton have made it difficult'published at 17:29 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    HT: Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's not been the most creative of halves for Everton but they have been solid and organised. They've made it difficult for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have had a couple of attacks where they have looked dangerous but not really tested Jordan Pickford.

James Tarkowski made an error but his defensive partner Yerry Mina got him out of trouble.

Let's go down fighting at least?! Leeds have six defenders on and four attacking players on the bench!! Sam really proving he's better than Pep and Klopp I must say!

This Leeds setup explains fully why Leeds have won only 11 games since sacking Bielsa. In February 2022.

  7. Everton frustratedpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    HT: Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

There was just the slight hint of panic starting to sweep around Goodison Park in the closing stages of that first half and perhaps understandable because at this stage they are going down.

Too much of Everton's play is hurried and their lack of a recognised striker is glaring, as it has been all season. It was bordering on negligence not to address that flaw properly either in the summer or January.

Everton must find a goal from somewhere or hope someone else does them a favour.

  8. 'Winning not a simple task for Everton'published at 17:23 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    HT: Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

    Eilidh Barbour
    Presenter on Final Score

You can feel the tension, the nerves in this stadium. It's rippling around.

They had the simplest task, they just had to win. They just don't have that real cutting-edge.

  9. Villa doing enough, just aboutpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    HT: Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton

A thrilling half of football, but Deniz Undav's goal late on, awarded following a VAR check after he had an earlier effort ruled out in the same way, has curtailed Villa's party a bit.

Villa had been superb before that, with goals from Douglas Luiz and Ollie Watkins putting them 2-0 ahead and on course for Europe.

They still are heading for the Europa Conference League as it stands, but it promises to be a nervy second half.

    Villa lead at the break.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Leeds 0-1 Tottenham

A few jeers from the home fans, but not many.

Leeds have 45 minutes of Premier League football left to savour/suffer.

Tottenham lead but have not had to do much for that. They're currently missing out on the Conference League thanks to Villa's lead.

  13. CLOSE!published at 17:19 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Everton 0-0 Bournemouth

Everton corner. It's a scramble in the middle. Yerry Mina misses it, Dominic Solanke doesn't.

But Everton come back again. Mina almost beats Mark Travers to a lofty cross and the keeper loses his balance.

James Garner smashes one on the rebound and Travers tips it over the bar!

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Aston Villa 2-1 Brighton

Aston Villa are joining Brighton in Europe as it stands. Two great sides to watch, two vastly improved football clubs.

  16. Postpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Leeds 0-1 Tottenham

    Another chance for Leeds!

A corner is flicked on and the ball lands at the feet of Rasmus Kristensen, but he can only tamely hook an effort over the bar.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 17:17 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Chelsea 1-1 Newcastle

Martin Dubravka has been given a run out in the Newcastle goal and he reminds everyone that a) he still plays for the club and b) he's decent with a superb save to claw out a potential second own goal, from Sven Botman this time. It all came from a magic cross by Lewis Hall.
