  1. 'Early goal has affected Barca'published at 15:37 British Summer Time 3 June 2023

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Former Leeds striker Lucy Ward on Dazn: “We're not really seeing the Barca we're used to seeing - slick passes, sharp.

"Barcelona have had a lot of the possession, a lot of the attempts but they're not the well-oiled machine we're used to seeing. They must be thinking about last year's final. I didn't think that early goal would affect them that much but it looks like it's affected their rhythm."

    Big chance!

Caroline Graham Hansen is found just yards from the goal centrally as the ball comes in from the left, but she cannot tap it in.

She had almost run past the ball, which was absolutely superb from Fridolina Rolfo.

Still plenty of time to raise their game - but raise it they must.

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Barcelona have not hit their stride yet. Their passing is not sharp, they are half a yard off the pace all over the field.

There's also a lot more energy and intent about Wolfsburg, they are defending enthusiastically and pressing hard when they get the ball up field.

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Former Leeds striker Lucy Ward on Dazn: “You're talking about world-class players with lots of experience - Lucy Bronze will probably have forgotten about her mistake already. She knows what she needs to do in this game.

"Wolfsburg do put a lot of pressure on - they do commit players forward. They are getting a lot of support around the ball, they're not just relying on one player."

Fridolina Rolfo, the Barca left back, is making hay down the left, constantly taking on Wolfsburg winger Sveindis Jonsdottir in one-on-ones.

It's something the Germans will have to stifle in order to hold this lead.

  13. 'Paredes can't believe it'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 3 June 2023

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Former Leeds striker Lucy Ward on Dazn: "It's a really well-worked corner but the defending from Wolfsburg at set pieces so far has been absolutely woeful.

"Irene Paredes will be kicking herself. That was a free header and for a player of the ability of Paredes - she can't believe it."

  14. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Barcelona's main tactic looks to be getting wide and playing low balls across the face of the goal. They've earned another corner that way.

And they should score from it! The set piece lofts right across goal, Frohms doesn't come for it and Irene Paredes has a free header five yards out.

Yet somehow she nods wide. Massive let off for Wolfsburg.

Nice give and go between Patricia Guijarro and Mariona Caldentey ends with the latter curling a shot high and wide.

Barca are having the majority of possession as we expected - but Wolfsburg will happily play on the break now.

  16. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Barca may be getting horrible flashbacks to last year's final, where they were three down in 33 minutes to Lyon on their way to a 3-1 defeat.

It is important they refocus to avoid a repeat.

  17. 'Pajor absolutely on fire'published at 15:09 British Summer Time 3 June 2023

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Former Leeds striker Lucy Ward on Dazn: “Barcelona like to pass it and Lucy Bronze was caught on the ball and Pajor does not need that much encouragement. That’s a terrific strike, she still had a lot to do after winning the ball.

    "Pajor is absolutely on fire.”

  18. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

    Barcelona almost respond immediately!

They earn a corner which is played in low and allowed all the way into the centre, before only being half cleared.

Salma Paralluelo takes a swing at it, but blazes well over from 15 yards.

  19. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburg

Lucy Bronze has not played since April due to a knee injury, and she looked ring rusty there. No awareness of Pajor at all.

Hopefully she's shaken that off by the World Cup.

GOAL - Barcelona 0-1 Wolfsburgpublished at 5 mins

    Ewa Pajor (4 mins)

    Pick that one out!

It's an error from England defender Lucy Bronze, caught in possession 25 yards out by Ewa Pajor.

Pajor takes a step inside and fires a magnificent right footed strike into the top corner. Barca keeper Sandra Panos got a hand to it but it was brilliantly struck.

Pajor with nine goals in 11 Champions League matches. The competition's top scorer, and that is arguably the best of the lot.
