You wouldn't think van de Ven would have that pace.
He can be sluggish over the first few yards but when he does get motoring he can really make up ground.
Gakpo thought he was in behind there but van de Ven just put on the afterburners. The Spurs fans replied in kind by singing his chant, they loved that.

I’m not sure this one is ending 0-0. Just a hunch.

Nicholas: This game has a feeling of both sides having amazing chances and it somehow finishes 0-0.
FT: Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to BBC MOTD: "The way the players went about the game today is really praise worthy and has given me enormous pleasure.
"They have to be so disciplined and so organised. It would be asking too much to come here and dominate.
"Joachim Andersen is a wonderful technician. It was only a half chance. He had to quickly get his feet right and have the confidence to put his foot through the ball. I'm trying to push him forward for goal of the week!
"I must add that the real satisfaction is seeing the players work so incredibly hard. The players were tiring enormously towards the end."

Straight up the other end and Dominik Szoboszlai sends in a teasing ball but Cody Gakpo's resulting effort takes a deflection and turns behind.

Tottenham claiming for a penalty as Dejan Kulusevski's cross strikes Virgil van Dijk's elbow just inside the area.
Referee says nothing in that. No penalty.

No messing about here. Both teams really going for it - pretty much as we expected. Big atmosphere inside the stadium.
There is real optimism among Spurs fans but they will face huge test but no fear from either side so far.

It's been electric so far.
We've had 14 minutes or so and I can hardly catch my breath. I don't know how the players feel ou there.
It's 100 mph but it is 100 mph of real quality. It's brilliant to watch!

Ange Postecogolou is suited and booted on the touchline for this match.
Love to see it.
FT: Everton 1-2 Luton Town
Everton
Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to BBC MOTD: "I'm disappointed because I've spoken endlessly about trying to change the story. The crowd was ready and we don't deliver the chances we created. We didn't score then we conceded two set-pieces which is really frustrating. Credit to them, they did that better than us and we didn't defend the two chances they had.
"The point is every time we get a chance to change the story we don't change it. We get in the final area then we're not quite driving in, and details are important. It costs you eventually. It doesn't win games.
"It shouldn't be [harder to win at home]. The performances have been there but we have to score goals. It's been the same old. We have played well in our general game but finding killer moments we haven't done again.
"We have the ability and capability but it's about delivering when it really counts. We could have changed that whole story."

What a spectacle this is! From one end to the other, and back again.
Early chances for both sides, a strong save from Vicario there to deny Robertson.
Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool
Lovely play from Liverpool and Cody Gakpo has a decent effort really well saved by Guglielmo Vicario.
Andy Robertson lashes at the rebound and it turns into a terrific double save from the Spurs goalkeeper.

Lovely football in the midfield from Spurs.
It is positive and they are outnumbering Liverpool at the moment. They clearly do not fear the press.

Oooooh.
Richarlison slides the ball across the box into a lovely position and it's a tap-in for Dejan Kulusevski but he just doesn't anticipate the ball well enough and he can't get in front of Andy Robertson to finish off the move.
Best chance yet for the home side.
FT: Man Utd 0-1 Crystal Palace
Manchester United
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's quite simple. We conceded only three chances over the whole game - all three from set-plays. Then I think we got in good positions and then made poor decisions.
"We got into good positions and we had free players. We didn't have an impact. The quality was just not good enough in that part of the game. The final part of the game we didn't play our best game.
"Of course it is frustrating. We were also many times close. You have to be sharp and clinical. It's about decision making. We can't change this result anymore. You always learn from the game and learn to do better from the final part of the game."

Really happy with Spurs' start to the season but tonight is a huge test. You just have to look at Liverpool's bench, compared to ours, to see quality depth is the next step for Spurs. Whatever happens - proud of this team again! COYS!

Destiny Udogie, who has made his mark in this Spurs team already, does really well to nip away from Mo Salah down the flank.
The Italian is already a fan favourite and, it seems, a favourite of Ange Postecoglou's.

This game has started at 100 mph!
Liverpool know Tottenham want to play out from the back and they are just putting in an early test to see how good they really are.
We know how good this front line of Liverpool is at pressing.
FT: Wolves 2-1 Man City
Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports after the loss against Wolves: "There are ten players and they transition well. We were well set up but we did not defend properly these situations. They beat us in the one v one and that is not good and we have to do it properly.
"We have to do more but even when we win we have to do more."
On Rodri's absence: "Rodri is an important player. We cannot count on him and you have to supply for another [player playing there]."
On Kovacic's performance: "It was fine. It was ok. Mateo is an exceptional player and it was the first time he played in that position. When we win and lose we do it together. Today we were not at our best."
Complacency? "You have to ask other people what they think about that [complacency].
"When you win four Carabao Cups in a row and the Premier League and a Treble it is not complacency. Sometimes the players can do better than you and beat you and that is what you can do today."
On being in the stands: "The view is better."
Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool
Spurs' turn to come forward as Richarlison gets away down the left. Destiny Udogie latches onto his slotted pass but can't keep the ball in play at the byline.
