Canada legend Christine Sinclair will make history if she scores today.

The 40-year-old forward, who has scored 190 goals in 324 caps (now 325), is aiming to score at a record sixth Women's World Cup.

She had a penalty saved against Nigeria.

Brazil's Marta is also bidding to score at a sixth World Cup this summer but, like Sinclair, didn't net in her opener.

Christine Sinclair and Shelina Zadorsky replaced Kadeisha Buchanan and Evelyne Viens for Canada at the break. I think there was a third too.

They can take so many positives from the first half. They frustrated Canada but what I don't want them to do now is to let them back into it and allow them to play.

Canada will go in the changing room the happier of the two sides because of when they scored but Ireland don't need to change anything.

Republic of Ireland centre-back Louise Quinn had just five touches in the first half, which shows that the Irish haven't been under as much pressure as they might have expected.

Level against the Olympic champions at half-time is a good scoreline for the Irish... but it doesn't feel like it right now.
