Jim Goodwin really needs a strong show from his side to get things on track. It doesn't matter that they're now unlikely to qualify for the latter stages.

Another slip would be very damaging and cause cutting concern among home fans.

Dundee Utd boss Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound: "We need to try and get the feelgood factor back. It's an opportunity to do that today in front of the home fans.

"There's plenty for us to learn from. Some of the changes are performance related, some are to try and get minutes into players.

"I don't pay too much attention to [the criticism]. I believe in what we're doing here. The fans have been very fair with me. We're still very much a work in progress."

The Viaplay Cup group stage continues today with all seven top-flight teams in action, including St Johnstone, Livingston, Ross County, Dundee, Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Motherwell.
