    Sjoeke Nusken (45+3 mins)

Well, you can't say it hasn't been coming.

The corner is played short and skirts around the box before landing to Jess Carter, who whips in a lovely ball on a sixpence for Sjoeke Nusken.

All she had to do was nod in and that'll surely be the last action of the first half.

    Guess who?

Two goals in under 10 minutes as Rachel Williams heads home from a Jayde Riviere cross.

Once again, Williams has done her job when coming off the bench.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

Lauren James works her way into the box and scoops a sumptuous left-footed pass over to Naimh Charles but, there she is again, Sophie Baggaley blocks at the near post.

Surely she can't do this all afternoon? Can she?

  7. Postpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 22 October 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

It's not a bad effort, that.

Pauline Bremer almost doubles her side's lead as Katie Robinson does well to keep hold of the ball and nip it away from Niamh Charles.

Robinson slips through for Bremer and forces Ann-Katrin Berger into a good save down to her right.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

A rare spell of Brighton possession means we can all get our breaths back for a minute.

Sophie Baggaley certainly needs a breather.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

It's last ditch stuff from Brighton right now, they have six minutes to try and hold off Chelsea and head into the break with a one-goal lead.

The home side's latest effort is a header from Lauren James which Sophie Baggaley manages to fumble away.

  11. goal

GOAL - Everton 0-3 Man Utdpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 22 October 2023

    Rachel Williams (77 mins)

The super sub is at it again!

She's only been on the pitch for three minutes but Rachel Williams is on the scoresheet.

The ball comes into the box and it seems like Courtney Brosnan makes a great save but Williams is in the right place to bundle it over the line at the second attempt.

    Game over now.

  12. CLOSE!published at 14:37 British Summer Time 22 October 2023

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

    How are Chelsea not level?!

Absolute chaos in the Brighton box. First, Fran Kirby flies in and strikes off the bar. Then it's a stunning save from Sophie Baggaley low to her right to deny the second opportunity and scrambled off the line by a Brighton shirt.

    Incredible.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

    Relentless stuff from Chelsea now.

Brighton are desperately trying to keep hold of the ball but Chelsea just keep piling the pressure on and eventually Sam Kerr has an opportunity.

Sophie Baggaley comes out of her goal to clear but can't get it out of the area and is lucky that one of her team-mates is there to clear.

    The Seagulls survive, just.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brighton

Ohh that is lovely from Fran Kirby. She picks up the ball on the edge of the area and slides out to the right for Eve Perisset.

Maria Thorisdottir and Katie Robinson are there to block with the former practically sitting on the ball to make sure no Chelsea player can get a shot away.

    That's one way of defending.

Looks like Sophie Baggaley is fine to continue and straight away she has to deal with a Chelsea effort.

Can Brighton hold on to go into the break ahead?

Oh no, Sophie Baggaley is in a spot of bother here and requires a bit of treatment.

Let's hope this is nothing serious, she has been excellent so far.
