That exact same scenario (rightly) resulted in a penalty for Brighton against Manchester United at the back end of last season. His arm’s up, the ball has travelled all that way, didn’t seem to deflect off anyone - Luton should feel hard done by.

The problem with handball as it is at the moment is I can't even offer a steer on whether that was the right call or not - it seems to change all the time. Two seasons ago that would definitely have been given.

    I think.

Have VAR got a big decision right this season? That is just not acceptable, ball travels 30+ yards and hits an arm way out from the body.

This is West Ham’s joint-highest points tally after their opening four games of a Premier League season, having also earned 10 points in 1999-2000. It is also manager David Moyes’ joint-best such start in the competition, also accruing 10 points from four games with Everton in 2006-07.

Luton have to adapt to the league and there is a gulf in finances and a gulf in quality but they are in games. Today a little bit more quality could have seen them take the lead but West Ham's midfield was magnificent.

Luton's enthusiasm was apparent but they lacked that cutting-edge in the final third.

Luton struggled to deal with the quality of the West Ham midfield in the second half.

West Ham's excellent start to the campaign continues.

Another awful VAR decision, that was a blatant handball by JWP.

West Ham win three of their opening four games of a league campaign for the first time since the 1999/2000 Premier League, while Mads Andersen is the first Luton player to score a top flight home goal since Brian Stein and Mark Pembridge netted in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on 25 April 1992.

Luton had a big penalty shout from that corner and I tell you what, it hit James Ward-Prowse on the arm. Should that have been a spot-kick?!

I dont have a clue these days. But that's a good shout.

The 3 teams that got promoted, I'm still asking myself where will they get any point this season, seems like they are way way below every other team in the EPL this season

James Ward-Prowse has contributed to goals in his last five games in the English Premier League (2 goals, 4 assists).

As someone said earlier he could be one of the bargains of the year.
