This has wiped out the goal deficit Aston Villa had after that 5-1 loss to Newcastle last week.

I'm not sure if any Everton fans are left but I applaud those who are, their side has offered so, so little to give them encouragement today.

The throw-in from Ashley Young is diabolical!

Disgraceful defending, appalling. Credit to Duran for being on his toes.

    Brilliant from Jhon Duran.

It is a confident finish from the young man getting his first goal.

    He looks really sharp.

You feel for Everton, you really do.

Ashley Young tries to throw the ball to Michael Keane, who misses his kick and Jhon Durán is through on goal and, just 47 seconds after coming on, he slips the ball into the back of the net.

What a moment for Duran, what a nightmare for Everton.

It could be a long season for Everton.

We know they are dipping into the transfer market hopefully Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not out for too long as they need him.

But this is Everton football club, them fans will not want to go till the last game of the season again.

Philippe Coutinho is not happy because no-one read his fancy, no-look flick. Aston Villa players are trying to pull off the Hollywood moves now, because this has all gone a bit flat.

It is obviously very early, but this showing suggests Everton's issues are far deeper than just needing a striker. They've been second best to Aston Villa all over the park. Maybe even third best in some places, behind the pitch itself.

Amadou Onana plays a great ball in to Neal Maupay on the edge of the box but the striker can't get free of Diego Carlos.

This is all pretty comfortable for the hosts.

Best chance of the game for Everton!

It comes from an Ashley Young corner as he finds Neal Maupay at the far post but the striker's volley is kept out by Emi Martinez.

It just won't happen for Maupay.
