We asked for your thoughts on how Spurs should replace record-breaking captain Harry Kane, who hasjoined German Champions Bayern Munichfor an initial £86.4m.
Here are some of your responses:
Nick: Spurs have Richarlison, who would do well given a protracted run in the team. Then there is Dane Scarlett, another product of the youth academy - so why not give him the same chance that Kane was given as a youth player? Similarly Troy Parrett, who has been perpetually out on loan. Seems better than spending vast amounts on forwards who may not fit in.
Chris: Richarlison should be given ample opportunity now to perform. He was played out of position previously. Give the lad a good run, Ange.
Alex: I think Jonathan David is a good shout to sign as Kane’s replacement. Third in the Ligue 1 top scorers list last season and won’t command a huge fee.
Adam: We've got to bring in Ivan Toney despite his ban. His stats are great and he has similar attributes to Kane. He'll slot straight in when he's available in January.
Coxy: Spurs still have plenty of attacking talent. They need to bank the money, not go mad spending as they did after Gareth Bale left. Keep the powder dry, give Postecoglou time to settle in and try to build something like Pochettino did what seems like a lifetime ago!
Elijah: I don’t think Spurs need to spend money on a striker. Although he was dreadful last season, Richarlison could have a good one this time, especially as it seems like he fits the system more than Kane. Of course, Richarlison won’t give us 30-plus goals a season like we’re used to, but many teams - such asChelsea- don’t have 'elite' strikers either.
Harry Kane "made the correct decision" in joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur, says the Premier League's all-time top scorer Alan Shearer.
The 30-year-old England striker and captain has moved for an initial 100m euros (£86.4m) plus add-ons.
He is Spurs' and England's record goalscorer - but has never won a major trophy with either.
"His career deserves some success," former Newcastle and England striker Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Kane scored 213 goals from 320 Premier League games, leaving him 48 behind Shearer's record. Some wondered if that would be a big enough target to stay at Spurs.
"I was a bit panicked when the plane was cancelled a few times, thinking is he going or not?" joked Shearer.
"Who knows, he could spend two or three years there and come back to have another crack at beating the record."
Football Focus' Alex Scott, Dion Dublin, Anita Asante and Ashley Williams discuss Harry Kane's move to Bayern Munich and the potential to win his first trophy within 24 hours of signing for the club.
Bayern Munich have announced the signing of England captain and Tottenham Hotspur's all-time top scorer Harry Kane on a deal until June 2027.
The striker, 30, is set to sign a deal worth more than 110m euros (£95m) at the German champions. Here's how his move has played out so far.
Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel said: "It is a big problem because it feels as if we had done nothing in the past four weeks.
"I cannot explain it. It was just not enough in every department. I have no idea why. There is no relation between our form and attitude going into the game and our performance on the pitch.
"It is the worst thing because there is such a big discrepancy."
Kane will have better days in Germany once he gets to know his new team. It was a slight surprise he was involved, having only become a Bayern player on the morning of the game.
He has scored 354 goals in his career and is the record scorer for Tottenham with 280, and England with 58.
Leipzig's performance was especially impressive considering they lost three of their leading players to the Premier League this summer.
Croatia defender Josko Gvardiol joined Manchester City for £77m, Hungary midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai went to Liverpool for £60m and France striker Christopher Nkunku moved to Chelsea for £52m.
The German Super Cup is the equivalent of the Community Shield in England, with Bayern the Bundesliga champions and Leipzig the German Cup winners.
Bayern beat Leipzig 5-3 to win last season's German Super Cup.
Bayern Munich 0-3 RB Leipzig
England captain Harry Kane made his Bayern Munich debut as they lost 3-0 to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
Only hours after completing his£86m move from Tottenhamon Saturday, the striker came on as 64th-minute substitute to a huge cheer at the Allianz Arena.
He had only three touches and made little impact.
Dani Olmo scored a hat-trick for Leipzig to deny 30-year-old Kane the first trophy of his career.
Olmo's first goal was into the bottom corner after a cross was not cleared. His second was brilliant, spinning Matthijs de Ligt before slotting through Sven Ulreich's legs.
The Spain forward got his hat-trick with a penalty after Kane's introduction.
