  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

The first change for QPR as Paul Smyth comes off with Albert Adomah on in his place.

The former Aston Villa player gets the sort of welcome reception from the home fans inside St Andrew's you'd expect...

  2. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Things are getting a little spicier as Koji Miyoshi is next to go down under a push in the box that leaves the home fans screaming for a penalty.

The pace is picking up a bit the last few minutes.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 60 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Paul Smyth takes out Jay Stansfield from behind and gets shown an instant yellow.

Stansfield stays down for a second or two before getting up. Poor challenge from Smyth.

Redzinho: There is a serious lack of pace in that QPR team. How no one at the club noticed it in the off season is baffling. Ilias Chair's powers are being wasted in this slow dull team.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 56 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

For the second time in 10 minutes QPR have Asmir Begovic to thank for keeping them in this game.

Oliver Burke picks out a cantering Koji Miyoshi, who tees up Scott Hogan charging into the box.

In a flash, Begovic is out of his goal and off his line and blocks Hogan's shot from going in the net.

  6. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Birmingham and QPR might both want to go away and work on their set pieces before their next game, as both have been nothing to write home about tonight.

QPR win a corner and fire it straight over the box and out the other side, much to Gareth Ainsworth's visible annoyance in the dugout.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 52 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Juninho Bacuna takes out Paul Smyth with a sliding tackle and is nowhere near the ball.

The yellow card is straight out as he becomes the second player in the book and the first for Birmingham.

  8. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

    Where's this come from - it's end-to-end!

QPR almost break the deadlock and it's John Ruddy who the hosts have to thank as he somehow scrambles to punch away a shot from Sam Field that is inches from the goal line.

Ilias Chair initially spotted a nice run from Lyndon Dykes as he broke in behind the Blues defence to set up the move.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 46 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Huge save from Asmir Begovic who reacts quickly to palm away a fierce 20-yard shot from Krystian Bielik after the ball found him from the corner.

The Birmingham midfielder must have thought it was going in for a second, with the shot bending towards the far bottom corner.

    Fine save.

  10. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

No changes as yet from either manager at the break with the sides coming out the same as they left the pitch.

Birmingham start as they mean to go on it seems with Oliver Burke darting down the wing and winning an early corner.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 22 September 2023

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

The players are back on the pitch and we're off for the second half.

Is this next 45 minutes going to bring us any goals...?

I'm astonished by the possession stats. They say that Blues have had 57% of the ball in the first half but it doesn't feel like that.

  14. Huddersfield in good shape - Moorepublished at 20:59 British Summer Time 22 September 2023

New Huddersfield boss Darren Moore has been singing the praises of former manager Neil Warnock, saying the veteran has left them in good shape.

Warnock left the club following the draw at Stoke on Wednesday, and Moore was appointed 24 hours later.

"I think they should be in a good place. As a former player myself I know what football can be like when you have got a good few results together and you're looking forward to the next one.

"I was a player under Neil at Torquay. In terms of what he's done [here] he has been magnificent. If I can do half of what he's done over his career, it means I'm on the right track."

You can hear more of what Moore had to say in his first press conference on Friday here.

  15. What's coming up this weekendpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2023

    HT: Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Tonight's game is just the starter course for a feast of action across the EFL this weekend.

We've got eight games in the Championship on the menu tomorrow as well as a full compliment of fixtures across League One and League Two.

Then, if that's not enough make sure you save a bit of room for Sunday for another two Championship clashes.

Coventry against Huddersfield, under new boss Darren Moore, rounds off the action on Monday.

We'll be here covering them all so there's really no need to go anywhere.

  16. 'Blues have looked more dangerous'published at 20:52 British Summer Time 22 September 2023

    HT: Birmingham 0-0 QPR

    Kerys Harrop
Ex-Birmingham City women defender on BBC Radio WM

Birmingham have had loads of opportunities down the wings and I'm sure the QPR manager will be looking to address that at half-time.

QPR have had more possession but Blues will probably be happier because have looked more dangerous, and they will be looking to keep that going in the second half.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 22 September 2023

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

All square at the break after a half that had a fair bit of attacking play but was lacking in many clear-cut shots on target and crucially, any goals.

The stand out moment so far goes to Sam Field, whose off-the-line clearance has kept his side on level terms at half-time.

  18. Postpublished at 45+1 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

It's gone a bit flat the last five minutes or so. The fourth official has indicated there's two minutes of added time and it seems both teams are happy to go in for half-time and then start again.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Another injury for Birmingham and this time Krystian Bielek goes down in quite a bit of pain after a late stamp on the foot from Sam Field.

He becomes the first player of the night to go into the referee's book.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 42 mins

    Birmingham 0-0 QPR

Not great news for Birmingham as Keshi Anderson goes down and after a bit of a pause while he gets treatment on the pitch, he gets back up, shakes his head and is substituted off.

Oliver Burke comes on in his place for his home debut for the Blues.
