That's as far as we go tonight on another dramatic evening on the pitch and in the board rooms in the EFL.

Leicester went back to the top of the Championship with a dominant 3-0 win over third-placed Preston and they're now seven points clear of the Lancashire side.

There were also wins for Sunderland, Leeds, Coventry, Swansea and Bristol City.

Off the pitch, lowly Sheffield Wednesday sacked Xisco Munoz after they lost at West Brom yesterday to make their worst ever start to a Football League season.

The Owls weren't the only Yorkshire side to remove their boss tonight, League Two Bradford sacked Mark Hughes after they slipped to 18th yesterday.

We'll be back with more EFL live text action on Friday with a big Midlands derby between Birmingham and West Brom.

Hope you can join us then and thanks for your company tonight.

    Cheers!

Blackburn finished seventh in the Championship last season, but Jon Dahl Tomasson's men are languishing in 20th after 10 games of the new campaign

On a night of two sackings in the EFL, with Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City parting company with Xisco Munoz and Mark Hughes respectively, one wonders if tonight's results with have further repercussions over the next few days?

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson must surely be coming under pressure after five defeats in six.

Valerien Ismael signed a new deal at Watford this week, but the Hornets have lost their past three and are a point above the relegation zone.

The Pozzo family have never been afraid of making a managerial change.

Many pundits tipped QPR to struggle in pre-season, and Gareth Ainsworth's men sit 22nd after a fifth game without a win.

    Owls cut adrift

At the bottom, Swansea City and Middlesbrough were the only sides in the bottom 10 to win in midweek.

Rotherham thought they were picking up a valuable point, but lost to a 95th minute goal at home against Bristol City.

It's not looking great for whoever takes charge at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls have made their worst-ever start to a season and are already seven points from safety.

Not very pretty but Leeds won't care one iota.

Crysencio Summerville's early goal is enough to give the home fans the three points and send them up to fifth.

Struggling QPR, who ended with 10 men after keeper Asmir Begovic was harshly sent off late on, remain in the bottom three.
