    St Johnstone 0-2 Dundee

If either side is going to score here, it looks like it'll be Dundee killing the game off.

St Johnstone look as blunt as blunt can be up top, while the visitors are still getting forward with plenty of energy.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Ross County

Simon Murray applauds the fans as he's replaced by Eamonn Brophy.

It's Murray's goal that is the difference so far at Rugby Park.

Victor Loturi is also on, with Yan Dhanda making way.

    Livingston 0-0 St Mirren

A booking for Ayo Obileye as he takes out Toyosi Olusanya. C'mon, Nick Walsh, be lenient - it's his birthday!

Can St Mirren make the most of the free-kick? Ryan Strain stands over it. It's headed away, comes back to Caolan Boyd-Munce and his shot is blocked.

This has been a tough, tough watch.

  8. What a miss!published at 16:26 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Ross County

Ross County should be two up.

Jack Baldwin inexplicably finds himself in behind the Kilmarnock defence and lays the ball on a plate for Jordan White, who skies it.

    Incredible miss.

Dearie me. St Johnstone are playing themselves into trouble now.

Sam McClelland fails to control a short pass from goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov and allows Scott Tiffoney to pounce.

You'd have put your money on Tiffoney finding the finish, but there's important interception from the Saints keeper.

  10. Murray making his markpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Ross County

Simon Murray left Queen's Park during their promotion push last season and at one stage it looked like he would end up back in the Scottish Championship with Ross County.

But his opener at Rugby Park is his first Premiership goal of the season and eighth in all competitions.

Injury concern here for Kilmarnock with captain Brad Lyons down in the box following a set piece and clutching his neck.

Substitutes are being readied but Lyons is back to his feet, gratefully.

We've had more quality in the first seven minutes of the second half than the entire first 45.

Just when Killie were starting to pass the ball about nicely, and had nearly fashioned another chance for themselves from another fine cross from Danny Armstrong, Ross County struck at the other end.

Their little band of fans, who celebrated wildly, will be thinking that 400-mile roundtrip will be well worth it if it stays like this.

    Ricki Lamie

A debut goal for the centre-back!

You'll struggle to see an easier set-piece goal this season. The St Johnstone players are completely static, allowing Ricki Lamie to ghost in and nod home.

    Easy as you like.

Free-kicks have been a feature of this game and Yan Dhanda has provided a sumptuous delivery for Simon Murray to head Ross County in front.

Scott Tiffoney has been a real bright spark for Dundee in this one. His pace and energy is a delight to watch.

He's proving to be a real threat all afternoon, but so far St Johnstone haven't been able to nullify the danger from him.

Andrew Shinnie has appeared at half time, for some reason he's walking across the pitch and looking okay. That's a relief to see.

Still a wee while away from the second half.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

Better from Kilmarnock as Matty Kennedy picks up possession near halfway and has a run at the Ross County defence.

Eventually, he drags a shot across the face of goal. At least things have livened up.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

A long-suffering Kilmarnock fan has just summed up my feelings about that entire first half: "Oh, dearie me!"

He was talking about yet another hoof of the ball into the stands. Both sides have been at it, but there were only two moments of genuine quality in the entire 45 minutes.

No surprise that they came from the left boot of Killie's Danny Armstrong, who deliciously delivered crosses that ended up drawing away keeper Ross Laidlaw into his only meaningful saves so far, albeit they comfortable ones. And, er, that's it.

A dodgy pen award was rightly ruled out is the only other thing I can usefully tell you about. Bring on better after the break.
