BBC Scotland at Tony Macaroni Arena

This game certainly needs a goal to liven it up. So far St Mirren have had the bulk of the possession but, as per usual, the Livi defence have stood firm.

At the other end, other than a few mistakes by Richard Taylor that have given the hosts half chances, Zach Hemming hasn't really been troubled in the Saints goal.

Saints fans though have been singing non-stop since kick-off. But the drummer is starting to do my head in!

  3. HALF-TIME Livingston 0-0 St Mirrenpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

Both sides have shown their quality in the most fleeting of glimpses, as they try and put that horror injury to Andrew Shinnie behind them. The Livingston midfielder was replaced after 20 minutes when he went down with a serious-looking head knock.

St Mirren have had the only chance of note - a Greg Kiltie header that forced Shamal George into a smart save, low to his right.

There's been little fluidity, little rhythm. Occasionally Joel Nouble takes a nice touch or James Penrice whips in a nice cross, but there's no end product.

Hopefully a little more to come in the second half.

That's 315 minutes without one. Nae good.

  5. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross Countypublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

Not one for the purists, this.

Both goalkeepers have been called into action and VAR overturned a Ross County penalty award after Simon Murray went down in the box.

More accuracy on the ball will be the key for either side to really seize control.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

Kilmarnock push with a couple of set pieces deep into added time and Ross County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw does well to turn away a Brad Lyons shot.

  7. HALF-TIME St Johnstone 0-1 Dundeepublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

Dundee have their tails up at the break.

A first goal for Amadou Bakayoko, who's on loan from Forest Green Rovers, gave the visitors the lead.

Some set-piece practice on the training ground paying off for Tony Docherty's men.

Saints have looked pretty soft at both ends of the pitch. Work to do...

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

Simon Murray is booked for a high boot near the head of Kilmarnock defender Lewis Mayo.

He's certainly put himself about in this first half, Murray.

David Watson draws a save from Ross County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw but the Kilmarnock midfielder didn't know too much about it.

He arrived late at the back post following Danny Armstrong's delivery.

    St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee

Dundee are firmly in the ascendancy in Perth.

Scott Tiffoney bursts a gut to the ball in on the right and scurries down the flank. The forward looks to fire one across the face, but Dimitar Mitov intercepts to parry the ball away.

Saints don't look comfy at the back at all.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:46 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Livingston 0-0 St Mirren

First real chance and it comes to the visitors.

Conor McMenamin lofts a cross to the back post and Greg Kiltie beats Luiyi de Lucas to the ball.

The little winger arrows a header towards the bottom corner but Shamal George stretches an arm and palms away. What a save to keep it goalless.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

    Oh, Danny Armstrong - almost.

The Kilmarnock winger takes down a lofted ball superbly but his second touch, the cross, is way too high and Ross County eventually clear their lines.

  14. Dundee fans making all the noise...published at 15:45 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

That Dundee goal has certainly lifted the away fans inside here.

I'd say there's almost 2,000 of them enjoying the sunshine and enjoying their team being ahead in this Tayside derby clash.

A first goal of the season for Amadou Bakayoko, and thoroughly deserved as Dundee have created more chances.

Maybe that will spark things into life, with the crowd engaged for the first time in the match.

The home supporters were furious with the penalty award by Kevin Clancy, VAR agreed and told Mr Clancy to take a look.

He duly did, and overruled himself to disallow the penalty, to ironic cheers from the Killie fans.

Well at least SOMETHING has happened this half. Hee-haw else, to be perfectly honest with you. Second half can only get better. Right?

  16. NO PENALTY for County after VAR checkpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

But wait, referee Kevin Clancy has decided to take another look at the penalty incident at Rugby Park and quickly motions to confirm no spot-kick.

  17. Postpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Livingston 0-0 St Mirren

This first half has been overshadowed by the injury to Andrew Shinnie.

Both sides have struggled to create, just cancelling each other out, with little to no tempo in the match thus far.

There'll be plenty of injury time at the end of the half, at least.

    Dundee 1-0 St Johnstone

Dundee's goal stands at McDiarmid Park!

We finally have the first Premiership goal of the day.

Neat free-kick routine finds Amadou Bakayoko at the back-post again, and the striker's header evades everyone to nestle into the back of the net.

VAR was checking if Scott Tiffoney was affecting the play from an offside position, but the Dundee forward kept his line and the visitors take the lead.

  20. PENALTY to Ross County!published at 15:38 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Ross County

Stuart Findlay fells Ross County's Simon Murray and it's a spot-kick for the visitors. The Kilmarnock players are not happy.
