Inter Milan host Benfica this evening in the Group D clash. Lautaro Martinez salvaged a point for Inter Milan in their opening Champions League game, an 86th minute goal from Martinez against Real Sociedad avoided a loss. Benfica will be looking to bounce-back from a 2-0 loss at home to RB Salzburg, as they sit at the bottom of the group.

Since the defeat at Arsenal, PSV have picked up three consecutive wins and welcome Sevilla to the Philips Stadium. Sevilla have had a rocky start to the season and an own-goal from Sergio Ramos gifted Barcelona three points at the weekend - Sevilla still sit above PSV in Group B, but only by a point.

  2. Why Ten Hag can't afford to lose that home sparkpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 3 October 2023

Man Utd v Galatasaray (20:00 BST)

We’re only nine games into the new season but Manchester United are already on the brink of regressing under Erik ten Hag - in one important aspect, anyway.

Ten Hag’s largely joyous maiden campaign was fuelled by United’s formidable Old Trafford record. A fortress once more.

We're only just into October and United have already lost the same number of home fixtures as last term.

United host Galatasaray knowing anything other than a win will intensify 'crisis' talk.

Defeat to the Tukish side would make it three Old Trafford losses in four. And with away fortunes showing no signs of improving under Ten Hag, losing that home spark would be nothing short of a potentially fatal disaster.

Lens boss Franck Haise: "It will be a big challenge. Arsenal have great experience and quality, with a big past and present.

"We deserve to be in this competition even if we are outsiders and we must play these matches with a lot of character, like we did against Sevilla."

This is Galatasaray's first season in the group stage of the Champions League since 2019-20 when former Manchester United forward Radamel Falcao was playing for them.

They finished bottom in a group featuring Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain and Club Bruges.

Galatasaray reached the semi-finals of the competition in 1988-89 when it was known as the European Cup.

This is their first game at Old Trafford for 11 years when a Michael Carrick goal was enough to earn Manchester United a narrow group stage win.

Simon Gleave, head of analysis, Nielsen Gracenote: "Arsenal's comfortable 4-0 win against Group B second favourites PSV improved their chance of reaching the Champions League last-16 to 94% according to our Euro Club Index, external.

"Tonight's opponents Lens are theoretically the weakest team in the group as they are ranked 47th amongst Europe's top flight clubs according to the Euro Club Index, 41 places below Arsenal."

Marcus Rashford has not been at his best this season, but I would never describe him as a weak link. I think the whole team is short on confidence at the moment, so this has an impact on him.

Rashford is still a very talented player and Erik ten Hag will hope he forms a quick understanding with Rasmus Hojlund, who I think has shown real promise.

So, Rashford as United’s weak link? Not in my opinion.

Around 3,000 Galatasaray fans have travelled to the city from Turkey for this game.

And you can bet they will make themselves heard inside Old Trafford.

Back in 1993-94, United flew to Istanbul to face Galatasaray in the Champions League. Sir Alex Ferguson and his players were greeted at the airport by fans with signs saying 'welcome to hell'.

Arsenal's flight to France was delayed from Luton airport last night, leaving almost five hours late.

Mikel Arteta and William Saliba were due to speak at a press conference at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis but it was cancelled.

Arsenal trained at London Colney on Monday morning before heading to the airport so their plans were not too disrupted.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag doesn't pull any punches in his programme notes for tonight's game.

Defeat at Old Trafford to Crystal Palace was United's fifth reverse of the season so far, including their opening Champions League game at Bayern Munich, where the eventual 4-3 scoreline flattered Ten Hag's side.

"Our start to the season has not been good enough," said the Dutchman.

"Although there are reasons, we will not attempt to hide behind excuses.

"It is up to us to now to turn our fortunes around. What happens next is up to us and nobody else."
