    Marseille 2-0 Brighton

Amine Harit is getting his ankle sprayed and there's blood on his sock. Tariq Lamptey did catch him with the studs after he'd won the ball - but it was a fair challenge and play starts with a Brighton drop ball.

  2. 'Too much power'published at 18:54 British Summer Time 5 October 2023

It is a great pass and a great turn. It's a wonderful double save from Fabianksi but the power from Sallai beats the West Ham goalkeeper and they get an early equaliser.

The game has followed the same pattern as last night's match between Leipzig and Man City.

GOAL - Freiburg 1-1 West Hampublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 5 October 2023

    Roland Sallai

    Freiburg hit back!

This is the home side's first really menacing attack. Lukasz Fabianski makes two brilliant saves, firstly to stop Roland Sallai's effort finding the net and then to block the follow up from Lukas Kubler.

The Hammers keeper is unfortunate, though, that the ball drops again to Sallai to lash in.

Anon: We must thank Arsenal for taking Rice. All respect for him, the current team may not get a silverware, but all the lads learned to be more confident who had been clinging on him before.

HT: SC Freiburg 0-1 West Ham

    Joe Cole
Ex-West Ham and England midfielder on Channel 4

It is clearly a tackle and fortunately and unfortunately for Freiburg, it has fallen to Paqueta's feet.

I hope it doesn't become something in this game but it could end up being a big moment in this game.

    Liverpool v Union Saint-Gilloise (20:00 BST)

The Belgian side's only previous European meetings with an English side saw them lose both legs to Birmingham City in the 1958-60 Inter Cities Fairs’ Cup semi-final. They lost both legs 4-2.

They are looking to become the first ever Belgian club to avoid defeat against Liverpool at Anfield, with the Reds winning all seven previous European home games against such opposition.

Freiburg had one shot in that first half, all the way back in the ninth minute.

And it wasn't as if Lucas Holer's effort was a particularly threatening one.

They need to fine way more in the second half or West Ham are winning this.
