    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff City and Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

Swansea just looked like how Cardiff used to be over the last two or three seasons.

Rigid, not connected, passes not connecting, players not on the same wavelength, no real game plan, and that is just not the Swansea way.

Whoever was to come in after Russell Martin was always going to have a difficult job.

You've got to go the same sort of route [style of football].

You might not find another Russell Martin because it was so unique but has to be something similar.

  4. 'No identity'published at 21:56 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    FT: Cardiff 2-0 Swansea

    Andy Robinson
Former Swansea City winger on BBC Radio Wales

There's a lack of identity in this Swansea side and the fans are not having it!

  5. Tanner the game changerpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    FT: Cardiff 2-0 Swansea

    Iwan Roberts
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Cymru

Ollie Tanner was the difference in the end.

The second half was better than the first half for Cardiff.

I thought Cardiff were the most likely to get a goal tonight.

The game changed when Tanner came on, he was really positive, he took defenders on and he fancied himself to beat the Swansea defenders.

    Owain Tudur Jones
Former Swansea City and Wales midfielder on BBC Radio Cymru

The players are not going as close to the away end as they have over the years!

You have to have sympathy for Michael Duff, he's a manager under a lot of pressure, he's stepped up and clapped the fans off, but not a clap back.

It's been a poor start to the season by him, especially after losing the derby match.

I would not want to be in his shoes at the moment.

There's not an empty seat in the home end as the Cardiff fans celebrate the win.

  8. 'Nowhere near good enough'published at 21:46 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

It's been really poor [by Swansea], you can only really judge at the end of the game what you've just witnessed and what you've just seen.

Swansea have been disjointed, relationships are not building up, they haven't been quick enough, they've certainly lacked quality, a lack of ideas.

It is going to take time but nowhere near good enough tonight!

I don't know why Harry Darling is taking the throw-ins, he should be in the box and looking to attack it!

Carl Rushworth comes out of his goal to clear a through ball.

But he scuffs it, and Ryan Wintle sees an opportunity.

The Cardiff midfielder puts just a bit too much on his shot though, and it sails over the Swansea crossbar.

Swansea have just been disjointed, disorganised and they've lacked creativity.

There's certainly a lot of work to be done.

    It should be 2-1.

Matt Grimes plays a beautiful chipped ball over the top and Josh Ginnelly is in so much space, but he fails to connect with the ball.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+2 mins

The ball drops to Jay Fulton who fires a low shot goalwards, but Jak Alnwick makes a fine stop.

Fulton is then replaced by Ollie Cooper.

Mykola Kuharevich comes on for Kristian Pedersen.

Swansea finally do have an effort on target.

The Welshman gets a terrific ovation.

We'll have eight minutes of added time.

Into the final minute here in Cardiff, and the home fans are relishing the moment.

Swansea keep plugging away, but they're yet to register a shot on target.

It's looking like a grim journey back down the M4 for those in the away end right now.

Early substitutions have been one of Erol Bulut's criticisms in the opening games of this season.
