Swansea as a group, as a unit, have got to get themselves up the pitch.

Swansea don't want Charlie Patino on the ball, they need him closer to the 18-yard box.

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Charlie Patino collects a pass from Jay Fulton in plenty of space.

Josh Tymon makes a good run up the left wing, but Patino can't pick him out.

Swansea have had precious little joy out wide so far, nor have they had much success on the counter.

Moments later, Josh Tymon clatters into Aaron Ramsey.

Looking at Swansea's shape, I think they've moved to a five at the back with Darling slotting in.

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Manolis Siopis plays a ball out wide to Yakou Meite on the right.

He cuts inside and drills at Carl Rushworth.

The Cardiff man gestures to the home fans to raise the noise levels.

    They duly oblige.

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

This is such a scrappy contest. Neither side can really keep possession for a prolonged period and put the opposition goalkeeper under pressure.

Manolis Siopis takes his underlayer off and briefly continues with his shirt half on.

A few cheeky whistles from the home fans.

Personally, I don't think Matt Grimes is enjoying this style of football.

A lot better start to the half!

  14. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

No changes at half-time as you'd probably expect.

Yakou Meite robs Matt Grimes of the ball and unleashes a fierce shot goalwards.

It swerves in the air, but Carl Rushworth does well to palm it behind.

The players are back on the field for the second-half.

    Cardiff get us back underway.

It seems unlikely that either manager will make any changes at the break given how tight the first-half was.

Rubin Colwill, Callum Robinson and Joe Ralls are among those who you would feel will get minutes at some stage for the hosts.

Liam Cullen and Ben Cabango both scored in this fixture in April but remain on the Swansea bench.

    Andy Robinson
Former Swansea City winger on BBC Radio Wales

I thought the first 25 minutes was really enjoyable, it was really end-to-end but it just really lacked that quality and what I would say, I have seen a better shape about Cardiff than over the last three seasons.

  18. 'It's been really scrappy'published at 20:46 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    HT: Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff City and Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

I just think it's been really scrappy by both sides during the half.

    Both teams have lacked quality.

I thought Cardiff started the better side and then Swansea got a bit of a foothold in the game.

From a Cardiff point of view from the backline into the midfield it's been comfortable in possession but when it's gone from the midfield into the front, there's just been that lack of composure.

  19. Rushworth on songpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    A decent save by Rushworth.

Probably the best bit of quality we've seen attacking-wise from Cardiff.

  20. HALF-TIME - Cardiff 0-0 Swanseapublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Big chance!

Aaron Ramsey plays a ball over the top towards Ike Ugbo who nods into the path of Yakou Meite.

He spins and shoots, but Carl Rushworth does well to get down low to his left and make the save.

    And that's the break.
