Lauren Wade's second half strike is enough for Northern Ireland to take home their first three points of the Nations League campaign as Tanya Oxtoby picks up her first win as NI manager.

In truth it could and probably should have been more as Northern Ireland dominated the contest at Seaview and squandered numerous opportunities.

Oxtoby will be pleased with the overall performance and picking up a win will be a huge confidence boost ahead of their Nations League double-header against Hungary next month.

Viona Rexhepi has kept the score down for Albania. This time she produces a stunning save to tip Marissa Callaghan's header over the crossbar after she got on the end of Lauren Wade's cross.

Emily Wilson drove down the right wing and Viona Rexhepi does well to deny Armela Tukaj from inadvertently diverting the ball into her own net.

Sarah McFadden then tries her luck from range but it sails just wide. That would have been some way to cap a century of appearances for Northern Ireland.

There will be five minutes of additional time with Northern Ireland on the attack and eager to add to their slender lead.

Northern Ireland's substitutes have added a real attacking impetus to the game in the closing stages, as Joely Andrews' flicked closed range effort from Simone Magill's low cross is saved by Viona Rexhepi.

She just has fantastic leadership. If she starts the game she gives 100%, if she is brought on to finish the game she gives 100% and she has been banging in the goals in the NIFL Premiership this year.
