Nice, flowing move from Las Palmas.

They zip the ball around nicely to work a chance inside the Real Madrid penalty area for Cristian Herrera.

His shot is saved by Kepa and the flag was up in any case. Encouraging for the visitors, though.

HT: Real Madrid 1-0 Las Palmas

It is currently goalless between Villarreal and Girona which means that Real Madrid will go top as it stands.

Another 45 minutes to go in both games, though, so it could all change.

That was some performance from Alvaro Valles in the Las Palmas goal.

He made seven saves in the first 45 minutes but there was nothing he could do to keep out Brahim Diaz's effort just before the interval.

GOAL - Real Madrid 1-0 Las Palmaspublished at 45+3 mins

    Brahim Diaz

Finally - at long last - Real Madrid take a chance!

Las Palmas cleared a corner from the right but the home side regained possession, got the ball back out to Lucas Vazquez and he found Brahim Diaz in the middle.

He took a touch before hitting the shot high into the top corner. No chance for Alvaro Valles.

Two minutes of added time are announced as Alvaro Valles makes another save from Joselu, this time sticking out his left boot to repel a low drive.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

    Another big chance goes begging!

Eric Curbelo is caught in possession by Federico Valverde, he bursts down the right and squares for Joselu.

The striker only has the goalkeeper to beat but, for the umpteenth time in this first half, Alvaro Valles is there to make the save.

Real Madrid have done everything but score so far.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 40 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Concern for Real Madrid as David Alaba heads off having sustained an injury.

There was not much warning so I'm not sure exactly what he's done. Whatever it is, Lucas Vazquez is on to replace him.

  13. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Dangerous ball in from Ferland Mendy after getting to the byeline but Daley Sinkgraven is well positioned in the middle to clear.

Down the other end, Sory Kaba stretches and sends a volley high over the bar.

  14. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Signs of life from Las Palmas as they counter quickly through Jonathan Viera and Cristian Herrera.

Viera slips the ball through to Herrera inside the box but Antonio Rudiger is across to put enough pressure on to prevent the shot.

  15. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

How have Real Madrid not scored?!

They are not so much knocking on the door as hammering in with bats with all their might!

Again ithe chance falls to Nacho, all alone at the far post, and this time he does shoot but is denied by the increasingly busy Alvaro Valles.

  16. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Ferocious shot from Aurelien Tchouameni but it's blocked.

Real Madrid come forward again and they are queuing up to score when the ball is put across the face of goal.

Nacho is probably not the man they wanted it to fall to but he shifts it into the Rodrygo, only for Eric Curbelo to make the crucial block.

  17. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Ferland Mendy curls a right-footed shot high over the bar as the ball breaks to him on the edge of the box.

It does feel like it's only a matter of time before the goal arrives.

  18. Postpublished at 27 mins

    It's all Real Madrid now.

Las Palmas just can't get out and on the occasions when the break has been on, their passing and decision-making has been off.

  19. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

Another good chance for Real Madrid and it falls to Brahim Diaz.

He's played in down the right channel by Joselu but a heavy touch allows Alvaro Valles to come out and win the ball with a slide tackle!

Unorthodox from the Las Palmas goalkeeper but he won the ball cleanly.

  20. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Real Madrid 0-0 Las Palmas

No offside this time but again Joselu is denied by Alvaro Valles!

It's Antonio Rudiger putting the ball in from the right this time, Joselu is in acres of space at the far post, takes a touch but his firm left-foot shot is beaten away by the advancing Valles.

The home side are ramping up the pressure now.
