    Arsenal 1-0 Manchester City

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC Two

We have seen them do so well in possession and they had that front four that is fluid in possession.

When they have more time to make that decision they could play quicker. There have been good examples of Arsenal playing really well around City's press.

  2. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Great early chance in this second half for Chloe Kelly!

She races onto a direct ball and fires first time across Manuela Zinsberger, and just narrowly wide of the left post.

New signing Marie Hobinger has scored two goals for Liverpool in her last three Women’s Super League matches, including last time out against West Ham, a match where she also created the joint-most chances for her team (three) and completed the most crosses (five).

After her excellent start, Hobinger was named Liverpool's Player of the Month for October.

"I'm just really really happy that I've settled so well. I feel really good in the team and all the girls make it really easy for me to play on the pitch, have fun and enjoy the football," Hobinger told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I think that’s the biggest point towards performing on the pitch as well. I’m really enjoying it and I hope we can carry on."

  7. Will Thomas strike again for Spurs?published at 13:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Tottenham v Everton (14.00 GMT)

Striker Martha Thomas would not be the name many would have predicted to top the WSL scoring charts, but she has had a prolific start to life at Tottenham. Since joining from Manchester United in September, Thomas has managed six goals in four matches.

Last time out she scored a superb hat-trick in Spurs' 4-2 win at Aston Villa, netting her first with a cheeky chipped effort.

"I don't think she's done yet," said Tottenham boss Robert Vilahamn. "I think she'll continue scoring goals and winning games for Tottenham."

    • All five goals scored by Leicester City against Liverpool in the WSL have been scored by different players. Hannah Cain scored the only goal in a 1-0 win in February and Josie Green, Carrie Jones, Ashleigh Plumptre and Missy Goodwin all got on the scoresheet in their 4-0 win in April.
    • Liverpool’s Ceri Holland has had more touches in the opposition box (14) and more shots (7) than any other Liverpool player this season.
    • Liverpool are just one of two Women’s Super League teams that Leicester City have played on more than one occasion and have a 100% record against, with the Foxes winning both their previous matches against the Reds.
  10. Team news - Kearns starts for Reds, two changes for Foxespublished at 13:28 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Liverpool v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

Liverpool boss Matt Beard makes three changes from the side that drew 1-1 with West Ham before the international break.

Jasmine Matthews starts in defence while Melissa Lawley comes in up front with Natasha Flint on the bench.

Ceri Holland misses out after picking up a calf injury while on international duty for Wales while Emma Koivisto is also missing after picking up a hamstring injury in training.

  11. 'Liverpool will pose a big challenge'published at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Liverpool v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Willie KirkImage source, Getty Images

Leicester boss Willie Kirk is taking nothing for granted against Liverpool, despite previous good results: "A few people have mentioned that I’ve got a really good record against Matt [Beard], and we’ve won the last three against them,” Kirk said.

“But we know history doesn’t matter – it doesn’t matter what’s happened before, it’s about focusing on what’s in front of us.

“People can talk about recent results or records, but in the WSL, every match needs to be taken seriously. It’s a tough game, they’re a big club, and it’s obvious where they’re trying to get too.

“They’ll pose a big challenge, and I’m not sure if they’ll break into the top four, but they're looking to get there and that shows what big a challenge it will be. To go there and get three points would be difficult, but it’s what we’ll be setting out to do.”

    Liverpool v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Matt BeardImage source, Getty Images

Liverpool manager Matt Beard will be in charge of his 150th WSL match today, a huge achievement.

He has won back-to-back WSL titles with Liverpool in 2013 and 2014 and was named Manager of the Year in both seasons.

Beard also managed West Ham between 2018 and 2020 before returning to Liverpool in 2021 and guiding them back to the top division.

I'm sure he would be even happier if his team can mark his major milestone with a win this afternoon.

Last season Leicester City lost their opening nine matches, entered the winter break without a point to their name and found themselves deep in a relegation battle.

Four games into the 2023-24 campaign and the Foxes have picked up seven points - a milestone they didn't reach until their 14th game last season.

They're fifth in the Women's Super League, above the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa, with their only defeat coming against high-flying Manchester City.

BBC Sport takes a look at the reasons behind Leicester's incredible turnaround.

    • Tottenham Hotspur are the top scorers in the Women’s Super League this season, with 11 goals in four matches – an average of 2.75 goals per game. Last season Spurs managed 31 goals in 22 games, an average of 1.4 per game.

    Tottenham v Everton (14:00 GMT)

There's just one change for Tottenham from the side who beat Aston Villa 4-2 before the international break.

Manager Robert Vilahamn keeps most of his starting line-up the same but Drew Spence comes in off the bench in a straight swap with Jessica Naz.

The big change comes among the substitutes as Ellie Brazil returns to the Spurs side for the first time since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament knee injury in October 2022.

Tottenham XI: Spencer, James, Buhler, Bartrip, Neville, Ahtinen, Clinton, Summanen, Bizet, Thomas, Spence.

Subs: Votikova, Ale, Turner, Brazil, Naz, Graham, Ayane, Percival, Zhang.

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

In case you're confused about who has been booked and how many...

It's three each - Pelova, Walti and Lacasse for Arsenal; Keating, Ouahabi and Hemp for City.

All of the bookings were justified, although strangely this match has not felt dirty at all. It's flowed well and been pretty entertaining.
