Charlie: Can someone explain what good will come from sacking Ten Hag? Is there anything over the last 10 years that has given you belief that the owners/directors have the first clue about football?

Neglecting the stadium, training ground, academy... who would want the job?

Anthony Martial on the ball for Man United

Anon: Martial has survived Louis Van Gaal, Giggs, Mourinho, Ole, Michael Carrick, Ralf Ragnick and now will probs survive Ten Hag. And he is playing up top for us as a number nine. Tells you everything about football operations at the club.

  16. 'Lacking in ideas'

    FT: Man Utd 0-3 Newcastle

    Gary Neville

Former Manchester United defender on Sky Sports

The Manchester derby on Sunday was bad. Tonight just cemented what we have seen in the last few days. They're lacking in ideas and he [Erik ten Hag] has got some thinking to do. He has got to work out how he can get the best out of these players very quickly.

  17. 'We were always going to bounce-back'

    FT: West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

    West Ham United

Jarred Bowen applauds the fans holding a match ball

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "We had to fight, we knew we was playing a top side but it was a really good performance compared to the last few [games].

"We have not been at the level, but we were always going to bounce-back and tonight was the prefect way to do it."

Playing in a central position compared to being wide: "A lot of running! A different position, but I have played there a few times.

"I predominately am on the right, it is a bit different but one thing for me is I will always run and work hard - I feel that is a main is part of my game."

On where he prefers playing: "Wherever. It is a boring answer but I will play wherever there is different positions right or upfront, but I do not mind."

On relationship with Mohammed Kudos: "He is a special player. Kind of similar to myself left footed and off the right wing.

"I was thinking where do his he need me to help him, but it is about knowing the players and he is a top player.

"You saw that with the goal tonight with the touch and finish."

  18. 'Wind was a key factor'

    FT: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool

    Bournemouth

Andoni Iraola crouches down on the touchline

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola: "We cannot ask for much more from the players, I think we played really well.

"In the second half we put a lot of pressure on them but it's an amazing goal from Darwen [Nunez].

"We kept pushing and had chances but we were not clinical enough.

"The wind today was a key factor. We struggled in the first half and they struggled in the second. It was difficult for both teams and I think it mattered a lot.

"Liverpool didn't want to kick it long in the second half and we wanted to use set-pieces, but they are the ones who scored the second goal and we have to congratulate them.

"We played well today. It's a cup competition and you don't want to go out."

  19. 'Sometimes you just have to get through'

    FT: Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "We should have scored more in the first half when the wind was with us.

"We scored a wonderful goal in the second half, the boys fought really hard, but it [the weather] was brutal. One yard on the pitch it was outrageous but we got through.

"We can't go long because we know they'll come back at us so we have to try to play from the back, it's risky but we have to.

"The goal we conceded was a set-piece and I don't know why he [Justin Kluivert] was unmarked.

"Games like this are super tough for both teams and it's important that you win. There are millions of ways to win a football game and we found one.

"It's not always about learning, sometimes you just have to get through and we did."

    Jurgen Klopp punches the air
  20. 'We hope to go one better than last season'

    FT: Man Utd 0-3 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Paul Dummett of Newcastle United and Eddie Howe smile

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a very good performance from us. The mentality was brilliant. We had injuries and picked one up early. It was a great response."

Players returning: "Emile Krafth coming back after such a long absence. He was committed with Paul Dummett. Willock was brilliant and Livramento."

Game plan: "Without the players committing to what we want, we've got no chance. This is a really tough place to come to score the goals we did at the time we did."

Busy schedule: "We hope the draw is kinder to us! I don't think there are any easy games in the quarter-finals. We hope to go one better than last season. You can't go too far away. We return to the Premier League with Arsenal. I know we have a tough schedule ahead and we look forward to it."

On fans: "Delighted for the fans. With the journey, we had to respond and reward them."
