Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm really disappointed and I am responsible for that. It wasn't good enough. We didn't compete good enough. I tried to warn them [the players] for 48 hours what was coming and how important it was going to be.

"Overall we were nowhere near the level we needed to show. This is football and every game is different. What happened a few days ago [defeated Sheffield United 5-0] is in the bin and in the past.

"We didn't threaten enough. I wanted to see much more from my team. There is a lot to improve.

"The thing we have to take from the game today is how are we going to use this to beat Newcastle on Saturday. Feeling the pain. That's what we have to do now."

On Aaron Ramsdale's performance: "Like every player, every players wants to do their best. We haven't done it and we're out [of the cup]."

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "We've done a lot of good things. We've got the goals which we maybe haven't done for the last one or two games. It was a big win against a really good side. I thought the players did a good job defensively. In the main we kept a really good team down to not too many chances.

"Okay, we got a bit fortunate with the first goal but they [Arsenal] are a big threat from set-pieces. We can be that as well.

"We are top of the group in Europe and in the top half of the Premier League table so we're not doing too bad. We are happy."

I am so frustrated watching it here, I want Manchester United to give the fans something to shout about - it was so lacklustre.

When crosses are coming into the box there is no Manchester United players in the box. Some players do not know what it is all about to play for Manchester United.

He is under pressure Erik Ten Hag, there is a lot of question marks over him at the minute. Even when they played Brentford they were lacking something and Scott McTominay saved them.

Some of the players are not at the level at the moment.

Fully deserved for Newcastle, after the first 10 minutes they were the better team.

Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento was outstanding, credit to Joe Willock too who has been out for a while.

Everyone was all talking about Man United being poor, but tactically Eddie Howe got it spot on.

Anthony Gordon led the line very well and caused problems. Man United are nowhere near it.

If I wasn't working I would also be leaving the stadium like the Manchester United fans to miss the traffic.
