    James McAtee

    Outrageous finish!

Take a bow James McAtee who from what appears to be absolutely nothing, conjures up a spectacular finish from distance.

Chris Wilder leaps out of the dugout to punch the air.

Blades fans are out of their seats.

    Wilson Odobert (45 mins)

    Smash and grab!

Burnley have soaked up some pressure, kept their principles with the ball and been rewarded with the opening goal.

    It's a delightful one, too.

French teenager Wilson Odobert picks the ball up on the left, drops a shoulder to nip inside, and curls into the top corner.

    Wolves 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Wolves are beginning to purr. Forest are having to dig in at the back as the home side ping it around. Vital Forest, who started so well, get to half-time on level terms.

  4. 'Great movement'published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Bournemouth

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on BBC 5 Live

It's great movement from Solanke his positioning, in between Shaw and Maguire.

He makes the run, the timing of his run is brilliant, first touch excellent.

He tries to find far corner and it rattles off the post.

    Man Utd 0-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth fans are singing in the rain during a pause as Alejandro Garnacho receives some treatment.

Looks like he has been clobbered in the face.

Erik ten Hag, sat in the dugout, discusses some tactics with his colleagues.

    Ashley Williams

Bournemouth are looking like a very good team lately. Manchester United aren't playing terribly, but Bournemouth are getting the better of them.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are half an inch of metal away from doubling their lead at Old Trafford.

Lewis Cook is again the architect, sharp and alert to win back the ball on the right before quickly feeding Dominic Solanke.

Solanke, now with nine goals this season, is brimming with confidence and his angled drive beats Onana but not the left-hand upright.

Old Trafford in a state of shock and confusion.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Brentford

Big chance for the Blades but William Osula puts it into the side netting. There haven't been many chances in this game but Osula will feel he should have at least got that on target.

  9. Postpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Burnley confidently knock the ball around at the back, playing their way through the Brighton press. Beautifully done.

The Clarets work the ball forward, although the cross from the right is not as precise and Bart Verbruggen gathers.

I get that Ten Hag wants to rest Hojlund for the Bayern match, but we have to be realistic too. Even if by some miracle we beat what is likely to be Bayern's (still rather strong) B team, we're relying on the fortune of a draw in the other game where both can still qualify. Martial just looks so disinterested and laboured I can't see where any threat comes from. Hojlund needs a PL goal!

  11. Martial move not paying off yetpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Bournemouth

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Anthony Martial has dropped deep to play the link role in a couple of Manchester United attacking moves but he is yet to be a threat to the visitors' goal.

Bournemouth are shepherding the Frenchman around their penalty area quite well and Martial is yet to make his presence felt.

I can't say he has justified his selection as yet.

Groans from the wet Old Trafford faithful - remember that leaking roof - as an attack breaks down with a wrong choice of pass.

Not clicking in the final third.

They're still talking about that X-rated challenge by Frank Onyeka on Vinicius Souza at Bramall Lane. VAR had a good look at it but Onyeka remains on the pitch.

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Still goalless on the south coast thanks to James Trafford.

With Brighton continuing to probe, the Burnley keeper needs to drop low to his right to beat away a shot from that young whippersnapper James Milner.

Seconds later, Trafford watches a header from Jan Paul van Hecke flash past the post.

Fair to say Antony is not happy with referee Peter Bankes.

The Manchester United winger feels he has been wrestled to the ground just outside the penalty area - the official disagrees.

Antony erupts in fury, shouting towards Bankes and punching the air in frustration.

  16. goal

GOAL - Wolves 1-1 Nottingham Forestpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Matheus Cunha

    That's a delicious team goal!

Forest's defence, which has been pretty tight, is unlocked after a lovely build-up which ends with Pablo Sarabia sweeping it into Matheus Cunha's path for the Brazilian to finish.

    Molineux erupts.

    Brighton 0-0 Burnley

Burnley are having to put in the greater defensive effort here.

The home side have hogged possession - holding 66% in the opening half hour - and Pascal Gross is the latest to draw a save out of James Trafford.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Brentford

    That's going to hurt!

Frank Onyeka goes in hard on Vinicius Souza and the Brentford player count himself fortunate to escape with a yellow card.

    Man Utd 0-1 Bournemouth

Not even at the half-hour mark and Bournemouth's Marcus Tavernier is booked for time-wasting.

He was certainly not in a rush to take this Cherries corner.

But when Tavernier does spring into action, his delivery almost tees up the second goal.

Marcos Senesi flashes a header past the far post with the aid of a deflection.

  20. Postpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

It's scrappy, scruffy and very, very wet at Bramall Lane. Lots of sliding challenges in the wet conditions. Chris Wilder will be encouraged by what he has seen so far.
