    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

That's all from us folks. Scotland will be back for their final Nations League fixtures in December, as they head to Belgium, before the small matter of hosting England at Hampden.

Only two wins will do to avoid relegation.

For more on tonight's game, here's Amy Canavan's match report from the national stadium.

And in the Premiership, there was plenty of drama at Easter Road. Nick McPheat has rundown the action here.

We'll be back for five more games in the men's top-flight tomorrow. See you then!

  2. Howard tries her luck againpublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

When the Scotland goalkeeper punted it long in injury time onto the head of Sophie Howard, it felt like deja vu.

Last time out at Hampden, the centre-half saved her side with the last kick (header) of the game after a Lee Gibson assist on her 50th cap.

History didn't repeat itself this time after Sandy MacIver's long boot up the park in the 93rd minute, but it did mean Scotland went home having registered a shot on target.

The fact it took that long for one? Far from ideal.

  3. Dutch dominancepublished at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

They're not the seventh ranked team in the world for no reason, folks.

Netherlands may not have blown Scotland away like they did on home soil last week, but in truth, they never looked out of first gear at Hampden.

With England's slip up, they'll be eyeing up top spot come the end of the inaugural Nations League campaign.

  4. First cap for Smithpublished at 21:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

There might be some doom and gloom after another defeat, but a promising young player making their debut is always to be celebrated.

21-year-old Jenny Smith will long remember her first time running out in navy blue at the national stadium.

  5. 'Much improved performance ends in defeat'published at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

    Joelle Murray
    Scotland defender on BBC Alba

A much improved performance from Friday night. The girls can take a lot of positives but ultimately it ended in defeat.

I thought the players competed more tonight, which is what the manager asked for.

  6. Belgium upset Englandpublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

    FT: Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

And if you haven't heard of the result in Belgium, the hosts scored a 85th minute penalty to snatch all three points from England.

Quite the result for the Red Devils, but it leaves Scotland looking awfy lonely down there at the bottom of the table.

  7. FULL-TIME Scotland 0-1 Netherlandspublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2023

A better performance, but a similarly disappointing result.

Esmee Brugts' rocket gives Netherlands all three points.

It leaves Scotland rooted to the bottom of Group A1 of the Nations League. They'll need to win their last two games to avoid relegation.

Scotland have a shot on target!

What a story that would have been as Sandy MacIver punts one long, but Sophie Howard header is straight at the goalkeeper.

She can't recreate the late scenes of the last time out at Hampden.

Jill Roord once again goes for goal, but Sandy MacIver stretches with a good stop to deny her piledriver.

Still no Scotland shots on target. They need one desperately.

  13. No Viv?published at 88 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

Looks like we're unlikely to be seeing Viv Miedema tonight.

Shame, she seemed buzzing at the prospect of playing at Hampden, given she's an honorary Scot.

  14. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

Scotland might have thought that was their moment.

Martha Thomas charges down the right and looks to pick out a Jamie Lee-Napier, but Esmee Brugts is there to hook it away.

  18. 'Dutch outnumbering Scots'published at 78 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Scotland

It is a let off for Scotland. It comes from the press. The Netherlands are outnumbering the Scots all over the pitch just now.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 76 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

So nearly a second for the Dutch.

Rachel Corsie is caught on the ball and Linthel Beerensteyn nearly makes her pay with a searing shot that cracks off the post. This one could have been all over there.

  20. Can Scots respond without Cuthbert?published at 74 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Netherlands

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Scotland

When you lose a player of Erin Cuthbert's quality, it is going to be hard. Scotland have a response in them, but they are going to have to work hard for it.
