Joe Shaugnessy should maybe count himself lucky there.

He's already on a booking and just bundles into the back of Daniel Lloyd.

Little bit of a sheepish look on him.

A very tight game so far, chances at a premium.

Dundee's Owen Beck, and Livi's Joel Nouble look like the two players who could unlock things at Dens Park.

    Jason Holt, what an interception!

At the back post, he bursts in and just gets a toe to poke the ball out for a corner and deny the onrushing Owen Beck.

  5. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Stephen Kelly has a wee dance in the Dundee box, but he just overcooks it and dilly-dallies too much to get his shot away.

  6. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Joel Nouble's pop at goal bounces off the head of Ricki Lamie.

Probably sums up the quality in the goalmouth so far.

  7. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Livi fair enjoying a dominant spell of possession in the Dundee half, but they're just not troubling Trevor Carson or his defence.

  8. YELLOW CARD - Luke McCowanpublished at 12 mins

    Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Referee Alan Muir is suffering no fools today, he's not in the mood for any nonsense.

He's just burnt the ear of Luke McCowan and shown him a yellow card, too, for taking out Daniel Lloyd.

Dundee captain Joe Shaughnessy is already walking a tightrope at Dens Park after picking up a booking early on, he will certainly have to be careful for the rest of the game.

Dee captain Joe Shaughnessy is cautioned for catching Scott Pittman's ankle.

Amadou Bakayoko with the first glancing header of the game.

The Dundee forward's effort on the end of Luke McCowan's whipped cross just drifts over the roof of the net, though.

Bright start, end-to-end, more of this, please.

  14. Pick of the pre-match statspublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Dundee v Livingston (14:00)

    • Dundee are winless and goalless in their last five home games against Livingston in the top flight (D3 L2) since a 2-0 win in May 2004 under Jim Duffy.
    • Livingston’s ongoing run of five consecutive clean sheets away to Dundee is their longest ever run of shutouts away to a side in the Premiership.
    • Livingston have lost their last two league games against promoted sides, including a 2-0 defeat to Dundee last month. They have never lost three consecutive top-flight games against promoted clubs.

  15. Dundee are the draw kingspublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Dundee v Livingston (14:00)

Four of their latest seven outings have finished level, which helps explain why their defeat of today's opponents ended a run of five games without a win - yet their 5-0 midweek hammering by Rangers emphatically brought an end of a four-game run unbeaten.

Meanwhile, although Livingston headed off interest from St Johnstone in manager David Martindale, they are in freefall in the Premiership after three consecutive defeats, including that home loss to the Dark Blues last weekend.

    Please, no draw today...

Saturday's for the football, for Dundee anyway.

If the books are anything to go by, the Tayside club ain't a fan of Sunday matchdays.

Dundee have won just one of their last 14 Scottish Premiership matches played on a Sunday, drawing four and losing nine.

Although that was their only such fixture this season, beating Hearts 1-0 back in August.

  19. 'It's going to be a rollercoaster' - Martindalepublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Dundee v Livingston (14:00)

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound that Daniel Lloyd "deserved a shot", hence his involvement today.

"He has a fantastic delivery, this could be a game where set plays are the difference," he said.

"I made a lot of changes on Wednesday, and I'm not buying into this poor run of form. A win today and we're in the top six, so we need to be pragmatic.

"It's a very competitive league, there is no easy game this year, it's going to be a rollercoaster this year, the pendulum is going to swing.

"It'd be a brave man to predict who is going to be down the bottom of the league come matchday 33 and matchday 38."

  20. 'Our reaction will define our season' - Dochertypublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2023

    Dundee v Livingston (14:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Sportsound that Scott Tiffoney picked up a little knock in training yesterday, ruling him out of today's game.

"It's disappointing, he's a loss, but it emphasis the strength in depth we have in the squad," he said.

"I know I have the characters in there, a Rangers defeat won't define our season, but our reaction will. I am looking for a positive one today, we got it after the Celtic game, so I'm hoping we get the same today.

"We have a difficult opponent coming here today who will be ultra competitive, but we need to make sure we are more competitive. Davie's teams are always energetic, and we need to make sure we match that and on top of that, show bits of quality that can allow us to win the game.
