Four of their latest seven outings have finished level, which helps explain why their defeat of today's opponents ended a run of five games without a win - yet their 5-0 midweek hammering by Rangers emphatically brought an end of a four-game run unbeaten.

Meanwhile, although Livingston headed off interest from St Johnstone in manager David Martindale, they are in freefall in the Premiership after three consecutive defeats, including that home loss to the Dark Blues last weekend.

The sun is absolutely splitting the sky in Dundee, a glorious afternoon for a game of football. Lets hope the offering on the pitch, matches the weather off it.

Saturday's for the football, for Dundee anyway.

If the books are anything to go by, the Tayside club ain't a fan of Sunday matchdays.

Dundee have won just one of their last 14 Scottish Premiership matches played on a Sunday, drawing four and losing nine.

Although that was their only such fixture this season, beating Hearts 1-0 back in August.

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound that Daniel Lloyd "deserved a shot", hence his involvement today.

"He has a fantastic delivery, this could be a game where set plays are the difference," he said.

"I made a lot of changes on Wednesday, and I'm not buying into this poor run of form. A win today and we're in the top six, so we need to be pragmatic.

"It's a very competitive league, there is no easy game this year, it's going to be a rollercoaster this year, the pendulum is going to swing.

"It'd be a brave man to predict who is going to be down the bottom of the league come matchday 33 and matchday 38."

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Sportsound that Scott Tiffoney picked up a little knock in training yesterday, ruling him out of today's game.

"It's disappointing, he's a loss, but it emphasis the strength in depth we have in the squad," he said.

"I know I have the characters in there, a Rangers defeat won't define our season, but our reaction will. I am looking for a positive one today, we got it after the Celtic game, so I'm hoping we get the same today.

"We have a difficult opponent coming here today who will be ultra competitive, but we need to make sure we are more competitive. Davie's teams are always energetic, and we need to make sure we match that and on top of that, show bits of quality that can allow us to win the game.
