West Brom need a win today against a very good Ipswich side that everyone is talking about.

If the Baggies can get a win today, no matter the three points, the confidence it would give them would be huge.

They've got to get the crowd behind them. If i got a fiver for every time I said that I would be a millionaire.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan arrives at the Hawthorns ahead of kick-off.

A story in the local press on the eve of the game revealed that Carlos Corberan opted to remain in England during the international break, as opposed to returning to Spain as is his habit.

He used the time by joining his staff to watch a lot of football, but it wasn’t just a Championship scouting mission. Corberan sought to watch teams who have begun the season by successfully implementing a system which he thinks might benefit his own players.

So he’s been giving Conor Townsend tips on what the left-back of surprise La Liga leaders Girona has been getting up to while fit-again John Swift has been shown how to incorporate some James Maddison magic after Corberan put Ange Postecoglou’s new-look Tottenham under his microscope.

Will the results of Corberan's passion project be on show at The Hawthorns tonight?

One change for West Brom as Alex Mowatt comes in for Nathaniel Chalobah, who limped off in the 2-1 defeat at Southampton before the international break.

John Swift and Josh Maja return to the bench after being sidelined since October and September respectively.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has made two changes from the side which won 3-2 against Swansea last time out.

They are without Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson who is ill but have fit-again Brandon Williams and Wes Burns returning to replace him and Harry Clarke down the right, with Clarke dropping to the bench.

Ipswich have taken to life back in the Championship like a duck to water.

The Tractor Boys are the division’s only remaining unbeaten side on the road this season, form which has been good enough for them to keep pace with leaders Leicester… until the last half-hour at least.

This evening’s trip to West Brom promises to be one of the most challenging of the season, however. The Baggies are the best home team in the second tier over the past 12 months, taking 50 points from 22 games, four more than any other side.

Ipswich have also been on a shocking run at The Hawthorns - West Brom have won seven and drawn three of the last 11 meetings there. The last time Town triumphed at the Baggies, a 17-year-old Britney Spears was No1 with …Baby One More Time.

Plenty has happened to Ipswich since that win in March 1999, good and bad. If they can (Oops) Do It Again this evening then Kieran McKenna’s men would move 16 points clear of West Brom in the promotion race after 17 games.

Starts to a season don’t get much Stronger than that…

Jamie Vardy celebrates scoringImage source, Rex Features

It is testament to the quality within the Leicester side that they stuck to the process and came up with the goods here against a Watford side that showed great resolve.

It took old stager Jamie Vardy to step off the bench and deliver, first tucking in after Daniel Bachmann made a save, and then winning a penalty from the dismissed Hornets goalkeeper before slamming it past stand-in Ryan Porteous.

It keeps Leicester top with Ipswich's game forthcoming. Watford's little upturn dented by this loss.
