Boom! Real Madrid make the perfect start as the ball is shipped out wide to Dani Carvajal.

The defender cuts inside and with the ball still bouncing, smashes it into the bottom corner.

    Jude who?

    Real Madrid 0-0 Valencia

Valencia make a confident start, sending Diego Lopez through down the right but his deep cross can't find a teammate in the area.

Real tried a quick high press but the visitors just carved right through them. Wasn't great.

Both teams strut out on to the field. It's packed in the Bernabeu. A cauldron of noise.

Away to Real ain't Valencia's strength.

They have not won a La Liga game at the Bernabeu since March 2008 under Ronald Koeman (3-2). Since then, they are winless in their 15 away games against Los Blancos in the competition (D5 L10), their worst ongoing such run without an away win against a single opponent.

Valencia have plenty going for them tonight.

Following their 1-0 win at the Mestalla in May, Rubén Baraja's side could register consecutive wins against Real Madrid in La Liga for the first time since 1998.

That was way back when Claudio Ranieri was their manager.

Plus, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has won just 44% of his games as Madrid manager against Valencia in all competitions (P9; W4, D3, L2).

I don't want to turn this live into the Jude Bellingham show, but I will leave you with this.

Bellingham has 13 goals in 14 matches for Los Blancos this season. Their next highest scorer, Joselu, has five from 15.

Bellingham is key to Real's success so far this season. He takes a sad team and makes them better.

A Real Madrid statement issued earlier today said: "After the tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham, he has been diagnosed with anterior instability of his left shoulder, a consequence of his recent dislocation.

"Bellingham is out for today's match against Valencia."

Real Madrid v Valencia (20:00 GMT)

Jude Bellingham is not in the Real Madrid squad tonight!

The England midfielder picked up a shoulder injury against Rayo Vallecano last weekend and was an unused substitute during Real's Champions League win over Braga in midweek.

Los Blancos make six changes from their last La Liga game, their most from one match to another this season.

Real Madrid XI: Lunin, Mendy, Alaba, Nacho, Carvajal, Kroos, Camavinga, Valverde, Díaz, Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo.

Valencia XI: Mamardashvili, Gayà, Paulista, Mosquera, Correia, Canós, Guerra, Pepelu, Pérez, Duro, López.

Surprise package Girona stretched their lead at the top of La Liga to five points with a win over Rayo Vallecano earlier today.

We're still early on in the season so I wouldn't call it a disaster if Real Madrid don't win tonight.

But you'd expect Los Blancos to have enough against Valencia to cut the gap at the top.

There is some pretty big team news from their camp to tell you about though...
