  1. Goodbye from us

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

Wales players in a huddle before their game against Germany

That is all from Swansea, where Wales have ended a difficult Nations League campaign on a very positive note.

It may have been a draw rather than a victory, but this has to go down as one of Wales' finest results given the quality of the opposition.

Germany are ranked sixth in the world - compared to Wales in 29th - but it was difficult to say who was the stronger side this evening.

Wales will be in League B when the Nations League comes round again.

But this result will be a welcome boost to Gemma Grainger and her squad as thoughts turn to the start of European Championship qualifying next spring.

We will be there to tell you how they get on.

  2. 'One of the best Wales performances under Grainger'

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Jo Price

Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

It's about the growth. It has been disappointing until tonight.

I think that performance tonight was probably one of the best I've seen from Wales under Gemma Grainger.

Defensively, they were solid, and in terms of stepping out of play to pinch the ball and create opportunities, that was positive.

Wales are getting better, but to be able to compete against the top nations, you need to be able to finish goals and be clinical in the areas that they're getting into.

  3. 'Holland has been a real star'

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Katie Sherwood

Former Wales midfielder on Match of the Day Wales

The campaign highlights for me I think were the goals we've scored, in particularly Germany away, that was such a team goal.

That quality we've shown we can have. It was all about that composure.

Ceri Holland has been a real star.

  4. 'Shame Wales left this until last'

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Kath Morgan

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Cymru

It's just a shame for me that they've left this performance until last.

I believe we deserve to be in this league.

Ultimately, we have not competed in five games out of six.

Yes there have been flashes, but flashes don't get you results.

How come we've left it until tonight to give a 90-minute performance, which, was very good?

I don't think Germany were all singing all dancing, but we have to credit Wales for setting up correctly.

  5. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Katie Sherwood

Former Wales midfielder on Match of the Day Wales

These are massive positives to take, giving Olivia Clark an opportunity.

She is Wales's number one now.

She didn't have a lot to do in the game but she stayed alert.

  6. Wales never give in, says captain Ingle

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Sophie Ingle

Wales captain Sophie Ingle tells BBC Match of the Day Wales: "I'm just proud really, to represent our country and put in a performance like that.

"The girls coming in tonight were great and the formation change suited us.

"We never give in. We were playing a top team and nullified them, and we could have scored.

"That's the next step we have to take, we have to get the ball in the net, but credit to us, a draw against them is a great result."

  7. 'The players should be proud' - Grainger

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Gemma Grainger

Wales manager Gemma Grainger tells BBC Match of the Day Wales: "For me and the players it was all about the performance.

"I thought we were the better team. We had the better chances and hit the post so, overall, I'm very pleased.

"I've always said it, playing in this league is what we've always wanted to do. This is what will take us forward.

"For us as a group, it gives us belief and we're proud to do it here in Swansea.

"We executed our game-plan. To do that against Germany, the players should be proud.

"It's a real moment when you say we had the better chances against Germany."

  8. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Jo Price

Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

For me, some of the standout players... Elise Hughes definitely.

She put herself about a lot and got herself in some dangerous areas as well.

Jess Fishlock again was great, Rachel Rowe was one of the standout players.

But, for me, the standout, and a player that people will be talking about a lot, was Elise Hughes.

  9. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Jo Price

Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

The Red Wall are always there for the team.

It's great to see that so many players still stay out, they take selfies and I think they've signed flags.

    It's fantastic to see.

  10. Wales need to push on from here, says Fishlock

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Jess Fishlock

Wales midfielder Jess Fishlock tells BBC Match of the Day Wales: "I'm tired but it's a great result for us and, more importantly, a great performance.

"We've talked about this being a journey and a process and it may have taken us a little longer than we thought but we're at the end of it now.

"They (Germany) needed to win, by the way, this was not a nothing game for them.

"They came here and we shut them down. That's our progress.

"We have to take this as our bare-minimum standard now and push on from here.

"I thought we were the better team and there are moments we need to tidy up.

"I couldn't be any prouder of these girls and this group. We're going to take this, push on and take it into the Euro qualifiers."

  11. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Jo Price

Former Wales goalkeeper on BBC Radio Wales

Wales had a game plan tonight, having five at the back gave them a bit more security.

Emotions will be running high through camp this evening, but it's a good way to finish the campaign.

Going into League B, it's where Wales can get results, score some goals and get their confidence running high again.

  12. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Helen Ward

Former Wales striker on Match of the Day Wales

You have to remember, this is a different process to qualifying, one we're not used to.

It's the first Nations League. You don't get those games where you go to the lesser nations.

This is a big moment, and they need to pick this up in the new year.

  13. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Katie Sherwood

Former Wales midfielder on Match of the Day Wales

This is why we're frustrated because we know this team can produce.

We know we can compete against the top nations, we've seen it previously.

It's now about finding a way to do this consistently and close the gap to the top nations.

  14. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

    Kath Morgan

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Cymru

I'm just frustrated because this is how we've enjoyed watching the women play for the past two years.

Since September for whatever reason, something hasn't been right and we haven't performed, only in flashes.

Tonight we've enjoyed the standard of football, but it's a little bit too late.

  15. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-0 Germany

In the other game in this group tonight, Iceland won 1-0 in Denmark, so Germany finish on top of the pile despite failing to win in Swansea.

  16. FULL-TIME - Wales 0-0 Germany

The final whistle goes and Wales can celebrate an admirable performance and hugely creditable result.

They are well worth a share of the spoils tonight.

The pity for Gemma Grainger and her players is that this draw came at the end of their Nations League campaign, rather than the beginning.

  17. Post update

    Wales 0-0 Germany

There is not long to go now, but it is Germany asking questions as the clock ticks down.

  18. SUBSTITUTION

    Wales 0-0 Germany

A late change for Wales as Jess Fishlock makes way for Ffion Morgan.

  19. Post update

    Wales 0-0 Germany

    Kath Morgan

Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Cymru

The Germany coaching staff are furious and are asking for someone to mark Kayleigh Green.

What's good is that a team in the top six of the world can have a bad night themselves.

  20. Post update

    Wales 0-0 Germany

    Gwennan Harries

Former Wales striker on Match of the Day Wales

The Germans have been very poor, for their standards.
