Sophie Ingle does well down the left and feeds Rachel Rowe, whose good touch opens up a shooting opportunity on the edge of the area.

Her left-footed effort crashes into the far post before bouncing on to the back of goalkeepr Merie Frohms and ricocheting just wide.

If there's anybody you'd want in that position it'd be Sophie Ingle or Jess Fishlock.

She just didn't connect with it as well as she has done in the past.

Gemma Evans then knocks the ball out of Germany keeper Merel Frohms' hands and into the net, but it's a clear foul.

A first chance for Wales to attack sees Rachel Rowe's through ball cut out on the edge of the area.

Then Elise Hughes drives into the box but looks to cross - and the ball is blocked - when she might have shot.

Klara Buhl turns well on halfway before being brought down by Charlie Estcourt.

Germany are seeing plenty of the ball in the opening stages.

The truth is, Wales won't have much of the ball tonight.

Germany will dominate possession. when that happens, it plays on your mind.

One mistake from Wales or lack of concentration, teams like Germany will punish you.

As expected, Wales have begun with three central defenders, with Josie Green alongside Rhiannon Roberts and Gemma Evans.

Charlie Estcourt is a right-wingback with Lily Woodham on the left.

And they are having to do some defending already.
