Raith Rovers 4-3 Partick Thistle (Fri)

It's becoming cliche but the Scottish Championship is anything but dull, as last night at Stark's Park proved.

Raith Rovers edged Partick Thistle - just - to go top of the division before a ball is kicked today.

    Aberdeen v Hearts (15:00)

It's a massive afternoon for Aberdeen manager Barry Robson as Hearts visit. The pressure was cranked up after the Dons continued their miserable start to the Scottish Premiership season with a midweek home defeat by Kilmarnock.

The boos rang out following the result left Robson’s side second bottom of the league - with a number of fans calling for him to go.

However, he remains in place – but failure to beat the capital club could potentially take him to the brink with regards to his Pittodrie future.

In terms of third-placed Hearts, they travel north looking to get back on the victory trail after a midweek loss to Rangers.

Prior to that, they were on a run of four league wins on the spin, so they will be reasonably confident they can plunder all three points in the Granite City.

However, they do not have history on their side - May 2016 being the last time Hearts prevailed at Pittodrie.

  4. Three changes for Buddies; Smith replaces Nightingalepublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

St Mirren v Ross County (15:00)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson makes three changes from Wednesday's deflating defeat by St Johnstone.

There is a first start of the season for loanee Thierry Small, who replaces Ryan Flynn in the starting XI. Meanwhile, Richard Taylor and Stav Nahmani come in for Charles Dunne and Lewis Jamieson.

Ross County boss Derek Adams makes just one enforced change from Tuesday's home victory over Motherwell.

Will Nightingale's late red card in Dingwall prompts a switch in defence, with 17-year-old Dylan Smith slotting into the County back three alongside Jack Baldwin and Ryan Leak.

  5. Three changes for Motherwell; Kane starts for Saintspublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

Stuart Kettlewell is under tremendous pressure to end Motherwell's 12-game winless streak, and he makes three changes from the side that were far too easily beaten by Ross County in Dingwall on Tuesday.

Dan Casey picked up a nasty looking leg injury, with Brodie Spencer moving into the back three. As a result, Georgie Gent - the only man to impress up north - starts his first game for Motherwell.

Davor Zdravkovski makes his first league start and Jon Obika is back up top. Conor Wilkinson and Theo Bair drop to the bench, which includes five teenagers.

For St Johnstone, Max Kuchairvyi misses out with concussion and is replaced by Chris Kane - who scored the winner against St Mirren on Wednesday night. Andy Considine returns to the bench.

  6. Martindale sacrifices attackers; Hibs make four changespublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Livingston v Hibernian (15:00)

It's been two weeks since Livingston last kicked a ball, suffering a 1-0 defeat by St Mirren in Paisley.

David Martindale makes two changes from a fortnight ago, with forwards Joel Nouble and Bruce Anderson replaced by defenders Jamie Brandon and Ayo Obileye.

Meanwhile, there's a change for every goal Hibs conceded on Wednesday away to league leaders Celtic.

Nick Montgomery brings in Rory Whittaker, Paul Hanlon, Jordan Obita and Dylan Vente for Lewis Miller, Rocky Bushiri, Lewis Stevenson and Josh Campbell.

Aberdeen boss Barry Robson makes two changes from Wednesday's chastening loss to Kilmarnock.

Centre-back Jack Milne comes in for his second start of the season as Angus MacDonald drops to the bench.

Ester Sokler for Luis 'Duk' Lopes is the other switch.

Hearts change things up too as Steven Naismith takes out Nathaniel Atkinson, Jorge Grant, and Kyosuke Tagawa.

  8. Goldson drops to bench; Lamie replaces Beckpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Rangers v Dundee (15:00)

Connor Goldson is a surprise absentee from Rangers' starting line-up as manager Philippe Clement makes five changes to the side that beat Hearts 1-0 on Wednesday.

He is replaced at centre-half by John Souttar, while Borna Barisic returns at left-back, Jose Cifuentes is in midfield, Rabbi Matondo on the wing and Cyriel Dessers up front.

Ross McCausland and Ridvan Yilmaz drop to the bench with Goldson, with Tom Lawrence and Danilo missing out through injury.

Dundee manager Tony Docherty remains faithful to the side that drew 3-3 away to Motherwell last weekend, bar the absence through injury of on-loan Liverpool left-back Owen Beck.

In comes on-loan Motherwell centre-back Ricki Lamie.
