    BBC Scotland at Tynecastle

The rain and wind is now blowing across the Tynecastle pitch and will ensure tricky conditions will be the order of the day for both sets of players.

This is a massive match for Hearts in terms of where they want to be come the end of May. Three points tonight would take them to within seven of Rangers but the game is just as important for Dundee.

Should the Dens Park side secure another win it would move them level on points with Hibernian in sixth spot.

    Rory Loy

If he's fit, Lawrence Shankland starts every day of the week.

What he contributes is second to none. He's probably more important to Hearts than any other player in the league is to their team.

  19. 'Clark deserves to start' - Naismithpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January

    Hearts v Dundee (19:45)

Hearts boss Steven Naismith tells BBC Sportsound: "Both teams will need to deal with the conditions. We want to be on the front foot and attack more than we're defending.

On Zander Clark: "Zander's took his game to another level. He deserves to start. We've got two good goalies, it's good competition.

On Lawrence Shankland: "He got through training yesterday and he feels alright."

Naismith adds there's no update on the potential arrival of Charlton midfielder Scott Fraser.

  20. As they standpublished at 19:16 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January

    Hearts v Dundee (19:45)

Hearts can give themselves a right cushion in third spot with a win tonight.

They're currently five points clear of Kilmarnock, who have played a game more.

A win this evening will of course extend that to eight, but Dundee have hopes of closing the gap on the top six.

They have a few games to catch up on. The opportunity is there.
